A New LLBD Spinout in Music Form (Seriously)
Hi, everyone—Nate here with something of an unusual announcement that I wanted to share with you all. I've been working on a music project with a close friend for the past 2 years, and I've periodically mentioned this on Lions episodes. I am in fact in a band called Second Homes, and our debut album is (finally) done and now available for presale on Bandcamp. At present you can stream 5 of the 9 total songs for free, and when the album releases on May 5th you will be able to stream all of it for free.
(If you do want to buy it, you'll get lossless quality audio files, liner notes, and a PDF booklet once the album releases).
I wouldn't be able to undertake things like this if it weren't for this show, and I'm really grateful for all our patrons' support of the podcast. That may seem like a platitude, but it's absolutely genuine: I wouldn't have the time or the resources to try something like this out, let alone an excuse to learn more about audio recording and post-production, were it not for this show and this fan community. Seriously.
Anyway, thank you from the bottom of my heart, and—since you are in effect co-creators by virtue of your support of LLBD—if you wind up hating this album, the fact that it exists is thereby also your fault.
With love,
Nate (and by extension Joe and Tom since I did actually ask permission to post this)

Great listening. Thx.
How much is £9 in freedom units?
This is awesome! Major Postal Service vibes. Thanks for sharing. Listening on a cold new england morning.
Absolutely love it so far, cheers from Salt Lake City, gonna show it to all my friends.
Nate, these songs are SO GOOD. I can't wait to hear the whole thing! Already my album of the summer. As soon as it comes out, I'm going to request it on my local indie radio station every day until they play it.
that's really kind of you and it would help us a ton if you did that!
Looking forward to giving it a wee listen... also, plans for playing it out live? Did you mention you might have a live show in Glasgow...?
Yeah of all the places we've done podcast live shows, I think London and Glasgow make the most sense to start out. Depending on time I think there's a possibility of touring the UK some more as well, but a lot of it is just dependent on where we can sell tickets and our own schedules. Definitely want to play as much as possible, though!
I've been loving the songs so far, very much looking forward to the full album
'Hate It' is a fun listen when theres traffic on the 95
I've been gone from the US for so long that it's nuts (in a good way) to imagine people playing this back home. Thank you!
Been curious about the album ever since you first mentioned it on the pod. Loving what I’ve listened to so far! Definitely picking it up once it drops.
We love you Nate! Rock on!
Holy shit! It's so good! I can't wait for the full release
Congratulations!
Can we get nate yelling flag fucker in the next live show? Thanks for this man! Really digging it
I mean with any luck I will be able to announce some concert dates towards the end of the year. Once the album is out we're going to link up to rehearse a bunch and hopefully get some UK shows booked. I just have to spend the next few months arranging everything so it can be played as a 2-piece
So happy for you! Can't wait to give it a listen!
This album would pair well with a PBR and a few American Spirits. Seriously, great work. It's scratching that Wolf Parade itch that has been on my back for a while now.
one of the things Saph and I absolutely agreed upon was that we thought the Handsome Furs album "Face Control" was incredible and also sort of a vague blueprint for what we wanted, and after debating it for a while I finally just texted Dan and was like "hey uh do you want to produce our album?" I was not expecting him to say yes, but he immediately did and he even plays on 2 songs on the record (Jerusalem and Better Swim). Working with him was really, really edifying but also just like an absolute blast the entire time
Can't wait to hear it!! And will pre order either way
Thx for the heads up / reminder!!
