KoD Preview: Training
Today we're going to focus on a single one of the buildings we showed you several weeks ago, as each one has unique events attached to it. You can see the orc camp's training grounds above, highlighted by the mouseover effect.
Though KoD does have a level system, grinding Sabia levels will not be a major focus. You'll only receive experience from activities that are still a challenge for Sabia, leading to fewer but more interesting fights.
Sabia's strength in the game is more than just level, you'll have a variety of opportunities to strengthen her aside from gaining experience. That's where the training ground comes in! The orcs don't usually train humans, but they can be persuaded by payment or meeting the right conditions.
Each training session imparts a permanent bonus, and these can make a bigger difference than raw experience. Sabia at level 3 with no training would be weaker than Sabia at level 1 with all orc training completed, for example. Though in the first release we'll only begin to introduce this system, later on in the game it will offer more unique rewards for events. In addition to simple gold or items, you might have to choose between permanent one-time bonuses. Equipment will also play a major role in your fighting strength, but that's a topic for another time.
This is our last post of 2016! In 2017 we'll be bringing you some more information updates and character previews as we lead up to the release of Kingdom of Deception itself. We'll see you in the new year!

Holy crap, you guys have me refreshing the page every two hours or so every day ;-;
You guys are the best. But I will miss Riven's tits so much.
Estimated release date of the alpha version of the game?
We don't intend to release an alpha - the first version will be a fully playable beta with saves transferable to future versions of the game. Though we're getting closer to the end, at this stage we can't predict exactly how long it will take, so we haven't set a release date. Sorry about that, but we try to stick to promises we can definitely keep.
TL;DR, but seeing the images and skipping over a few passages I am really interested in this new project. I'll be keeping an eye out for a first playable "demo". :)
I assume the training will have some sort of cost benefit to it. Will there be time blocks, money, or something else limiting the amount of training you can do at a time? I assume that a level 1 with all the training done for the orcs will have had to do some muchkin stuff to accomplish that or am I assuming wrong?
Indeed, training costs both time and money. While there's no ticking time bomb forcing you to hurry, time is passing and will be relevant in various parts of the game. As for training vs levels, they're mostly separate. If you choose to avoid combat (in the first version, that will mostly be optional sparring with orcs) then you could stay on level 1 a long time while spending your time on training. Later on, the balance will be affected by decisions to choose violent versus political solutions to problems. Both will be valid paths, but you'll be getting different stats in different ways.
I'm probably weird for people who are all about your works. But I actually really like the idea of a completely "Chaste" or at least minimum amount of sexual content run. Not because I'd do it very often. But because I like the options. Sexual training is still lots of fun too. But you know.
What a misleading title ;P.
is kod still a rpg game like NN?
No, it is Ren-py
Oh boy, this will be hard to fap to xd
Thank's guys <3 Happy New Year and waiting for the game
Thanks guys for your hard work, I am waiting for this game and... Feliz Año! :D
Not the kind of ''training'' that came to mind when I first read the title. But this is fine too. Ah jeez. I'm tingling with anticipation. Happy New Year, guys. Looking forward to even more perversion in the next one.
Same here.
Great news. See you next year. Happy New Year! 👍💖
