KoD Preview: Politics
Happy holidays, everyone! We're still working, so our posts continue.
One thing we haven't shared with you yet is the core political aspect of the game. The setting is a land in the wake of a war that pitted humans against everyone else, but the game isn't going to be a two-sided conflict.
There are a variety of races in this world, including elves, minotaurs, succubi, and catgirls. Each has their own agendas and factions, and if Sabia wants to have her revenge, she'll need to navigate between all of them.
Of course, while we're bringing you a pretty large chunk of content in the first release, we're not crazy enough to try to include all of that in the very first version! The first major location of the game will be an orc camp, and while they may be a rough group of raiders, that's not all they are.
Though the Warchief may be the leader, he embodies the traditional ways that have failed the orcs. Underneath him are three Captains, younger orcs hungry for power and eager to take the tribe in a different direction. Sabia's capture upsets the balance between them and threatens to set off a conflict between the three.
You'll have the chance to make Sabia align with one of the Captains... or submit to all three, or try to manipulate them against each other. Each option will offer a very different way of playing through Kingdom of Deception, but we hope to make all of them interesting in their own way.
Finally, just a reminder: if you haven't participated in the patron pick yet, now is your chance! There's still time to make a suggestion, and we've gotten a number of nice suggestions for you to vote on. Here are the posts again:

Is the voting for 15$+ only?
Yeah, that's one of the benefits of pledging at that tier. The big opinion or feedback threads are open to all backers, but voting on specific decisions is a tier reward.
Catgirls seem fine to me. Will it be a patriarchal or matriarchal society? Or will it be something else?
The catgirl kingdom was one of the first to fall during the war, so their society has been fractured. The first ones you meet make their living on the margins of other cultures. What their old culture was and how the larger groups organize themselves, you'll find out in-game.
Hmm submitting to an Orc tribe and then enslaving Elves and Succubi seems like a reasonable course of action ^^
AND THEN PURGE THOSE FURRYS!!! Catgirls i mean.
Minotaurs Yay! Elves Double yay! Succubi meh... too overused, Catgirls digusting!
I hope we will not be forced to fuck with those Furrys or even better if could make a "little" etnic cleansing.
This sounds juicy. I like it already.
Triple A games, eat your heart out, this is some well thought out game design right here!
First Merry Christmas: D now the hype is huge, give us a date ç_ç however it is interesting that you can choose from game start thing to become the protagonist and not as the end game with Riven in NN, well done
This gives me more questions than answers. Will one of these choices be a deliberate way to screw orcs over?
Yay intrigue! Yay Succubi! Yay Cat girls! Yuri will Sabia's dominance against her betrayers and beyond!
You had me at ''submit''. Kikiki. Well, technically you had me at ''politics''. I do love a good game of intrigue. But still... Submission. Kikiki. Merry Christmas indeed. Have a good one, you wonderful people.
Happy holidays all :^)
This is a very complex and interesting idea.👍 Merry christmas! 💜
That sounds delightful.
