What Elektron's Outbox 8 does, for MPCs too?!
Hi!
Shown at Superbooth and now coming out officially, there's more to Elektron's new Outbox 8 than meets the eye. It's the first-ever (to my knowledge, at least) audio interface that can act both as a USB device (which all the others do) and as a USB host (!).
This means it can "create" physical analog outputs from USB streams coming out of audio gear, something that's increasingly common - including the new generation of MPCs.
It also means that, unlike other solutions that replace a device's I/O with an audio interface in order to expand it, Outbox 8 lets you add outputs while still using the device's existing I/O.
Along the way, it's also a MIDI-to-CV converter...
Of course, it's not all "pros" - all the info about it is in this video!

If you still have the TR-1000, could you test it with that? I'm wondering if it works at all, and if so, whether it works while still using the device's existing I/0
