Slim 21 Continuum // The World’s Most Advanced Synth, Now Smaller & Cheaper
Hi!
After a short vacation and a couple of weeks with the flu - I'm back! (though you might hear a bit of leftover raspiness in my voice...)
I've been waiting a while to explore the Slim 21, not just because it's a nice, portable Continuum that now doesn't cost quite like a used car, but mainly because of one important recent development in the Continuum world.d
Continuums have always been amazing preset machines, but if you wanted to customize your sounds just a little bit more than what was available with 6 macros (or make new presets), you'd need to learn how to program the very powerful but equally complex EaganMatrix. That was a massive usability gap which Haken Audio have now bridged with their new API - opening up the EaganMatrix to developers to create what they call Overlays.
Overlays let developers create "skins", or interfaces into the matrix, which can look like anything you can imagine, and from a look at the overlays already released, they're a great way to unlock the magic of the Eagan Matrix for mere mortals, including opening up its resynthesis engine, something previously not possible.
More information in the video!
All my best,
Ziv (diving back into the most complex synth matrix I know, though this time it's easy, on a youtube channel called "Loopop"...)

Claude couldn’t find one, but this helped! Trying out the Sumu thing from Madrona labs. Thanks!
The resynthesis thing is wild! Are there vsts that do this?
I'm sure there are! I think Madrona labs has one and I'm sure a google search would yield more, there's nothing in the hardware that can't be done in a plugin
Oh no, I've pined for one of their instruments for years, but this may finally make me go broke for one.
It is so beautiful, unique, concise, and I would trade my Osmose in a heartbeat for it.
Sweet! Glad you're feeling better.
