MPC XL vs MPC X, and MPC 3.7's biggest new feature

Well, the leaks are true - and now it's official - MPC XL is here: it's big, it's got MPCe pads, a touch strip, and plenty of buttons.

What's more impressive to me is how Akai are handing the MPCe pads on the software side. We've seen plenty of controllers and instruments with XY sensors - these give you XY coordinates and leave it up to you to figure out how to turn those into a musical outcome in a mod matrix somewhere.

Akai has already made the first step with articulations in firmware 3.6, and now they expand that even further with pad presets, quadrant support and more.
