π Orbital Mechanics β Tutorial
Hi everyone! π
Over the years, I've worked on a lot of space-related projects, including the Exoplanet Catalogue (a list of all the confirmed exoplanets) and 0RBITALIS. I'm very happy to announce that the longest and most detailed tutorials I've written is a deep dive into orbital mechanics! π°οΈ
This is such a fascinating topic, which I know many of you have become intimately familiar with thanks to Kerbal Space Program! π
The tutorial is around 80 pages long, and includes dozens of interactive diagrams!
The main focus if on Keplerian orbits: from their geometrical derivation, to their mathematical properties. At the end of the tutorial you will be able to predict the position of a satellite along its orbit: this is perfect if you want to create a realistic space simulator! πͺ
I am already working on the next two parts, which will cover a Unity/C# implementation, as well as a new tutorial on orbital manoeuvres! π
I hope you'll enjoy this article as much as I enjoyed making! And if you have any question or suggestions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me! βΊοΈ
