Caleb Lance Rogers
New Abraham Colonial Medical Report
Patient: Caleb Lance Rogers
Date: 2179.10.02
Medical Officer: Dr. Evelyn Sharpe, Ironwood Major Medical
Patient Age: 19
Date of Birth: 2160.07.04
Sex: Male
Species: Human
Height: 172 cm
Weight: 60 kg
Blood Type: O-
Occupation: Junior Technician (Victory Innovations Contractor)
Known Genetic Conditions:
Huntington’s-Lance Variant (H-LV) – Mild recessive expression
Weakened immune system
Increased susceptibility to infections
slow recovery from illness
Increased risk of respiratory failure, skeletal degeneration, and cardiovascular strain
Medical Implants:
Reactive Subcutaneous Defibrillator (RSD) (Implanted 2176.04.12) – To mitigate risk of sudden cardiac arrest
Pulmonary Stent & Synthetic Reinforcement (Implanted 2175.09.18) – Post-respiratory collapse stabilization
Current Condition & Relevant Medical History
A. Genetic Disorder & Long-Term Impact
Caleb presents with a recessive expression of Huntington’s-Lance Variant (H-LV), a degenerative disorder linked to an ancestor from the 20th century.
Gene therapy in past generations largely corrected the disorder, but his genetic markers indicate a regression, leading to:
Skeletal fragility and muscular endurance issues
Compromised immune response
Respiratory instability under exertion
Increased risk of cardiovascular stress failure
B. Recent Medical Incidents
1. EEZO EXPLOSION (2179.05.15) – ACUTE INJURIES
Incident Report: Patient was caught in an element zero containment breach at Victory Innovations' research facility. Resulting injuries included:
Multiple rib fractures (Left side, 3rd-7th ribs)
Pneumothorax (Collapsed lung, moderate severity)
Crushing trauma to left leg (Severe soft tissue damage, minor nerve involvement, fractured femur & tibia)
Severe concussion (No reported neurological deficits post-recovery)
Treatment Provided at Ironwood Major Medical (Paid for by Victory Innovations):
Emergency trauma stabilization (Medical stasis and medigel regenerative therapy)
Lung repair via synthetic scaffolding and medi-geltissue grafting
Orthopedic surgical reconstruction of left leg (Titanium-fiber reinforced stabilization, kinetic therapy-assisted recovery)
Neurological observation (Cleared after 72 hours, persistent minor headaches reported post-recovery)
Recovery Time: Two months (accelerated due to top-tier private care funding).
Recent Immunological Events:
Severe respiratory infection (2178.11.04) – Developed into sepsis, requiring two-week hospitalization at Ironwood Major Medical.
Post-surgical infection (2179.06.21) – After leg reconstruction surgery, delayed healing and mild necrotic tissue formation were observed. Recovered with aggressive antibiotic therapy.
Preventative Measures Recommended:
Regular immune-boosting treatments (antiviral prophylactics, immuno-support injections)
Avoidance of high-risk environments (large crowds, poor-sterility workspaces)
Strict post-injury infection monitoring
Prognosis: Without continuous preventative care, risk of life-threatening infections remains high.
EXOSKELETON OVERUSE (VEST System) – CHRONIC STRAIN
Patient Rogers has been extensively using the VEST (Variable Environment Safety Tech) exoskeleton provided to him several months ago.
While the VEST prevents acute injuries and limits physical strain, it is also worsening his preexisting muscular degeneration and skeletal fragility due to overreliance.
Physical therapy reports indicate:
Decreased muscular engagement when unassisted.
Reduced tolerance for strain outside of exoskeleton support.
Signs of accelerated skeletal weakening in weight-bearing joints due to passive movement assistance.
Medical Analysis:
The VEST is both prolonging and exacerbating his condition—it protects him from harm but prevents necessary muscle development, making him more dependent on it long-term.
If this pattern continues, independent mobility may be compromised within the next decade.
Medical Recommendation:
Mandatory physical therapy to counteract atrophy effects.
Reduced reliance on VEST during non-essential activities.
Routine evaluations to monitor skeletal degradation.
Patient Compliance: Moderate. Patient Rogers is aware of the issue but remains psychologically reliant on the exoskeleton as a safeguard against injury.
Notable Psychological Factors:
Chronic Medical Trauma: Multiple hospitalizations from early childhood have contributed to:
Mild PTSD regarding medical facilities (heightened anxiety in sterile environments)
Fear of being perceived as weak or incapable
Performance Anxiety:
Strong drive to prove self-worth despite physical limitations
Pushes beyond recommended limits, leading to increased medical incidents
Cognitive Function:
Above-average intelligence, strong adaptive reasoning skills.
Prone to fatalistic thinking about long-term health outcomes.
Current Mental Health Management:
No active psychiatric medication prescribed

Its funny, but what interests me about Caleb's future enhancement isn't that he's likely to become a super hero, or even that he's likely to become the "poster boy" for human enhancement, its that Caleb is going to slam Miranda's issues so hard . Miranda has this massive inferiority complex about her genetically engineered body. She doesn't view her own accomplishments as earned, she views them as a natural result of her creation. She only owns her failings. So I'm looking forward to seeing how she handles seeing Caleb go from 0 to hero. Will she think that Caleb's accomplishments aren't his own, will his pure moral standings make Miranda feel inferior in her choices, how will the relationship between Zedd and Caleb make her feel?
Is this him pre-serum?
Why does every AI smiling pic you add to characters (male specifically) look unhinged? The others always look fine, but the smile always looks unhinged. Or at least ominous. Kinda clashes with the metal idea of Caleb being like Steve (not unhinged). The first pic fits really well though.
Ah, the "Before" preceding the "After" of the Super Soldier-Psionic Procedure.
Caleb; a young man filled with nothing but the hope for a better tomorrow! Will he rise to the occasion and be the Captain of his own destiny? Kai Leng; a man cast adrift in a galaxy that scorned him, will he never overcome that grudge, or will he be the Soldier that makes the hard call when the chips are down and luck is all he has? Zedd Victors; the man with the plan and knows he can't be the Iron will that everyone needs, but he's the best they have and that's all he needs to know. What crazed call to adventure will they answer? Find out next time, on, Massive Disaster!!!
