but Gaza you can help

I wanted to say this on the show, and my voice died before I could get there:

Amjad's little sister is very, very sick from a combination of disease circulating in the Rafah camps, respiratory illness brought on by breathing the dust of an exploded homeland, and various injuries along the way that might've been treatable if there were anyone to treat them or anything to treat them with. She is in dire condition, she's just a little kid, and there hasn't been any way to get her out of the country for safety or continuous treatment. Anything you can spare to help keep her alive, well, you know what that means.

Meanwhile, Israel has "opened" the Rafah crossing, i.e. the Egyptian border – in standard Israeli fashion, that means "It's about 50/50 whether or not we kill you for approaching the checkpoint" (literally 50/50, from the last numbers I know). But Rulin and her family have exhausted every option left in Gaza and are going to try to make the jump into Egypt. It's dangerous as hell, but staying put is probably more deadly still, and – this being a matter of both emigration and Israel – money turns the wheels that pop the bolts that tumble the tumblers that mean the difference between "Carry on" and bang bang bang bang bang.

Anything you can give – well, I don't want to speak for anyone else, so I'll just say that if you've been reading what I've been reading for the last most-of-a-week, and you ever felt so sick with rage and shame that you wanted to kill yourself for not being able to save any of those kids: here are kids you can save.
