Stop the AI Gaslighting: Mastering NPCAI Prompts
Imagine this: You’ve just finished a 15-minute pursuit that left three officers down and your car a mangled wreck. You have half health, your adrenaline is red-lined, and you finally get the cuffs on the suspect. You scream, "Why the hell did you flee?!"
The NPC looks you dead in the eye and calmly says: "I don't know what you mean, Officer. I was just going for a walk."
It’s enough to make you want to uninstall the mod entirely. But before you shelve it, I’ve got your back. We’re going to whip these NPCs into shape and actually give them some character.

In this video, I’m sharing a specific prompt that will improve your experience with the NPCAI Mod. We’re moving past the days of total denial and high-pitched, glitchy voices.
With this setup:
No More Denial: NPCs will actually acknowledge the crime and the pursuit.
Dynamic Excuses: They’ll start spinning stories and making excuses, giving you real dialogue to work with.
Better Performance: We’ll fix those immersion-breaking voice shifts as they get agitated.
10x Better Gameplay: You aren't just arresting a bot; you're interacting with a character.
Stop letting the AI ruin the vibe. Let’s get under the hood and modify this the right way.
IMPORTANT: Before installing any template, ensure you create a backup copy of all txt or config files.
I removed all verbiage about Sergeant Powers and I took out some of the prompts for the [sex_worker] as it may not fit your playstyle. I added more info for the AI for the voice styles to help with vocal pitch rise. This method is effective, but only to some extent. I would estimate that around 80% of the time, the information on the voice styles will benefit each archetype, but don't anticipate a miracle.

I made this video for v3.0 - That is the current version. Update is not out yet, and even when new update hits, yes it will help as I am using v3.1 beta in my game right now.

Hi, is it normal that when I copy and paste the two files into the NPCIXML folder, I get nothing when I talk to NPCs in-game?
No that is not normal. My advise is to reinstall your files that you backed up (as mentioned on video) you can still do this in game, no reason to reload the game, just ALT TAB out replace with your backup files and talk to the ped again. If you still do not get an answer back, you will need to post on DoubleHook's discord as you can get more technical help, it would be a NPCAI or connection issue.
If i dont have this mod in another life i dont play LSPDFR! THIS MOD IS AMAZING I MEAN LIKE INSANE!!!!! Not only does the Peds remember their crimes but i was having a casual conversation with one of the Peds behind the desk at the station and i said "hope ya have a good shift hoping its not to crazy" and she goes "thanks you to, THE NAME IS EVA BY THE WAY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? LIKE WHATTTTT????? so much more i could say. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT WORK MY MAN ONCE AGAIN

Well, not everyone will be that way. You will indeed find a few that will deny a bit. As mentioned there is a chance that they could deny at first. This is your prompt, so add a chance instead. 1 out of 10 chance that the officer is correct, or maybe --- If accused of an action, you have a 1 out of 5 chance to challenge the officer or even deny the events. Stuff like that. Guide the AI is all I am saying.

Hey blueline awesome job again! I just have 1 question hoping you can answer why did my default lspdfr scanner come on in my car again I know it’s probably unrelated to this but just wondering if you know why.
If you have Simple Trainer installed (Highly Recommended) go to Options and 'Enable' Never Wanted. Make sure that you navigate to the right until you see a Save Config at the very bottom right of that trainer, otherwise you have to do this each time. If you need more help on Simple Trainer you can watch my Simple Trainer Install video for 2026 that I did a few months ago and it will help you with that. It's over on YouTube.

so amazing, lspdfr has changed so much since i took a break about a year ago, i know this is still new in development, but i and many others think the next big step is simply 1:1 real conversation, ie. getting rid or substituting the obvious ai verbiage when they start speaking and otherwise, amazing job

Great work brotherrrrrrrr…. Stopped a npc because he ran across the road while I was in my patrol car. Asked him why he was running erratically. He told me he was late for work and needed to catch the bus. Asked for license, ran a ped check came back suspended license. Blew my mind!

Loving these little patreon videos, hey Mike, in your opinion, is it worth the hassle to switch to Policing Redefined, or is it better to wait a few more months to allow mod authors flesh out the bugs?
It has some bugs but not game breaking. If you really like the new mod NPCAI I would say it is worth switching as it is a bit more accurate with the NPCAI logic (Peds know if they have a warrant, suspended license and they know what is in their pockets in the cars, they also know the occupants of the car a bit better) STP does a decent job with the occupants in the car as well, but STP inventory with whats in the car and on peds does not seem to pass over to NPCAI. TLDR: Yes, I would say it's worth it, try and fight through a few bugs here and there and try and get to know the menus. However, if you prefer STP with UB I would not blame you one bit.

How do you get your AI to stay inside your police vehicles? Ever since I installed this mod they get out as soon as I get in the drivers seat
I have noticed this as well, doesn't happen every single time, but it may have more to do with STP? Not sure yet, but DoubleHook is aware of it.

NPCAI + Blueline Dispatch have single handedly brought me back to LSPDFR and the first time I’ve joined patreon. The work you two are doing are holding this mod up and this is fixes my only grievance with the game atm. Cant wait to see how immersive it gets over time.

Hey Blue! Thanks a million for your dedication! I think you and DH are creating something amazing without even realizing it! A GTA role-playing game! Imagine being able to make NPCs aware of their surroundings, have them talk to each other, witness accidents, use an interrogation room, exchange medical reports between departments, or even have a foot chase with your colleagues, asking them to go around a building, etc. So many possibilities!! Just an FYI Mike you CAN change it to where you can talk to your police officers! It surprised me when I watched Steve's video on NPCAI and they knew their 10 codes, phrases and other things so well! Even had an officer say the Q word during one of my patrols and I was like "Awe hell nawwww!!!" LMAO! Brings a LOT more immersion into the game.
Of course, but it was not meant to be enabled just yet. Next update, things will be even better.
