Status update Episode 12
This week, I've played more of the last main girl branch and worked on scenes that needed some extra improvement in this regard. I will likely wrap up work on this main girl branch next week, and I've been waiting for the static renders to complete so I can fully test some scenes.
I've also been trying out some new things that I finally got time to test, but I can't talk much more about that today.
Despite this short update, it's been a busy week.
PCs have been working at a great speed all week, but my cooling systems are feeling the summer heat, and I had some issues with those. It sucks that summer coincides with the time I need everything to work flawlessly, but I'm doing my best to make sure it won't affect rendering.
One of my PCs is still rendering static renders, and it should start rendering animations sometime next week, which should boost animation rendering a bit.
93 animations are currently in the queue, and despite this looking like a small jump since last week, my estimate from last week is based on the remaining frame count, not the animation count. For the time being, the estimation still holds.
Season 3 credits
This is the last call for the credits section for Season 3. If you haven't already put your name here to appear in the Season 3 credits, this weekend is your last chance. So, if you planned on entering your name, do it now - and don't wait until the last minute.
The credits post will be locked on Monday, June 1st, and the $30 tier's credits reward will be paused until a credit section for Season 4 is available. I'll announce when that is, in a future status update.
Upcoming Patreon changes
Speaking of Patreon tier changes, to be able to provide the game on Patreon while selling it on Steam/GOG, there will be additional changes after Season 3 is released.
Seasons 1 & 2 and Acting Lessons will be turned into product posts rather than included in the monthly subscription. That means those posts will be a one-time purchase, including future Patreon patches - similar to how Steam/GOG works. Basically, if you bought a product post in the past and I publish a patch for that game/season, you can download the patch without having to buy it again.
Season 3 will be moved to the Huge DIK ($25) tier when this change happens.
This won't affect the release cycle in any way, and I will still make sure that everyone gets Season 3 with the current tier settings:
+$25 Huge DIK tier: 3-day early access
$10 DIK tier: Season 3 full download
$5 Mini DIK tier: Season 3 patch that works with v0.11.0 and v0.11.1
My main priority is making sure you aren't negatively affected by any sudden changes, and I'll also have a grace period when the changes occur. I am contractually obligated to make these changes when I start selling Season 3 on Steam/GOG, and that's why they need to happen.
And after that, work on Season 4 will begin, and it will be brought to you ASAP with the same tier settings as now. And we'll keep the party going like that until the game is complete. I'll let you know when these changes will come into effect. This was more of an early heads-up.

Pink answered that in one of the Q&A. Although the story arc is set from the beginning, the number of seasons is not fixed. However, it will very likely be four.

Hey DPC, is there a way to extend the credits post so that the users that want to pay for the new release + guide also get to enter their names in the credits using the $30 tier? Of course, this would mean a patch after the release itself. Otherwise, it'd cost a subscriber $30 to add their name to the credits and then another $15 to get the release + guide, because the credits and the guides don't happen in the same month.

Thanks for the update, and will look forward to Season 3 completion. However, I fail to see why existing subscribers can't be grandfathered into having the product posts. We've surely paid enough to cover the cost of the game. If I have to buy the game anyway, I will likely plan to just purchase the game on Steam when it's complete. It doesn't make financial sense to both subscribe and then have to buy the product anyway. These updates are nice and all, but hardly worth paying money for each month. I am sure this wasn't your choice, and I do understand you need to do what you must. I wish you well, and really do enjoy the game. Either way, I will look forward to playing the full game on completion, and to any of your future games!
That's not how Patreon product posts work. I can only use the tools I have at my disposal for my Patreon page. Future patches for previous versions can be released on a subscription basis, potentially delivering patches to subscribers instead of requiring them to purchase the post. The full game, however, needs to be in a product post so that a user can't buy all my content for a price that's vastly different than that of Steam/GOG. Also, don't forget what Patreon has always been: a way to support creators - and not a marketplace. It's a very recent thing to be able to sell posts this way. And in my case, it was either remove the games altogether or offer an alternative like this.
I'm thrilled that there is a season four planned. This is one of the only series that has maintained quality all the way so far.

Glad to hear that you're almost finished with the last main girl branch! This bodes well for the final release! I hope that the render time estimate will not only hold up, but will actually go better than expected! One is allowed to dream a bit, isn't it? :D As for the Patreon changes, it must be linked to your contract with Steam I guess? I'm planning to get the Season 3 on Steam anyway, so I don't worry too much. I can't wait to finally see the new episode, I'm so excited by it that the wait is almost unbearable. So, what is your setup now? Do you use NVidia? How many cards and what type? I have an AMD 7900 XTX that is overkill for my needs, maybe I could donate it?
A double-digit amount of 5090. I'm at full capacity right now, and the bottleneck is my power grid, not my hardware.

In my second floor office I had to buy an exhaust fan for the office and placed a fan at the base of the stairs leading to the second floor angled upwards just so keep the room bearable...just 2 PC's in the room. I can't imagine dealing with more...not can my AC unit lol
