Status update Episode 12
Happy Friday!
Big milestone reached this week - all animations for episode 12 are now posed! If I counted correctly, the total number of animations for episode 12 will be 431.
I have just completed the last lewd scene of the episode. 101 animations are currently in the render queue, and that number won't increase. It's a big number as it accounts for 23% of the episode's animations, but the render speed is good, and I don't have any pesky animations in the queue waiting to render.
I have tried my best to estimate the render time based on the remaining frames to render and the average daily produced render count. The average daily render count will vary because there are 7 different lewd scenes in the render queue, and each scene has different render times.
My current estimate is that it will take between 52 and 57 days to complete the render queue, given no interruptions. I will keep you updated on this estimate, and I hope it improves, as I'm eager to release this behemoth. Beta testing will commence when the queue has finished - or is near finished, if possible.
Next up, I plan on playing more variations of the branch I've been working on. The good news is that even with more variations to play, most of the content is already in place. I'm fairly positive there won't be any more scenes added to the episode, just some extra renders and lines of dialogue here and there.
I'll also start working on the Special Render sets for Isabella and Camila soon. Then I'll focus on playtesting and polishing the episode.
I've gotten lots of playtesting done already, as I've worked on each main girl branch over the last few months. Currently, the others branch need the most playtesting. There are lewd scenes and scenes I haven't even seen in-game yet.
I also have some other game-related tasks to work on. One of those is the walkthrough, which needs to be written and coded into the game for the upcoming Steam/GOG release.
And I need to run a paranoid test of the save transfer to S4 as well, as nothing would be worse than finding out that players couldn't import their saves into S4 later on.
So, to sum up, there's still work to do, but it's all about wrapping up the development from here on in and waiting for the queue to complete.

52 to 57 days to complete the render queue... ouch what a bummer But when I think about it, with 21,000 frames, that means around 4 minutes of calculation per frame, which isn’t that much. The problem isn’t the hardware, but the huge amount of frames to calculate. A lot of content so i feel better now :p

A bummer to know it'll be at least 2 more months, but on the other hand a more concrete end date is always good. Keep up the good work, DPC. Can't wait to finally play through the last episode of S3.
Yep. After seeing that number myself I was like "oof" but still I know it's very fast given it's over 21000 frames to render. And I always think it's best to be upfront about things like that. You guys deserve to know what I know.

That's fantastic news! This means we can expect a Patreon release somewhere between late July to August depending on how much time it takes for the beta testing and the needed corrections to be done. That's just great! This is setting us for a great summer time! I can't wait to see what great adventures I will experience with Jill and Sage, my two favorites! 431 animations in a single episode is absolutely huge! I don't remember what was the animation count in the two first seasons, but it was much lower than that even taken together I think. This new episode seems to be promised to be, by all account, the best episode to have been released yet in terms of quantity of content, quality and story.

Hmmm 🤔 by my calculation and experience of being the supporter of DPC for a few years, I think the estimated release date would be sometime in late July or middle of August. HELL YEAH

Behemoth sounds like and understatement Doc, this episode is gonna take a while to get through and see all the variations and im all for it cant wait to see what episode 12 has in store for us all, i just know i aint gonna get much sleep the day you release it but i would lie if i said i wouldnt want it any other way, cuz lets be honest which one of us is gonna sleep much when Doc releases episode 12. Wicked awesome!!! Funny the thing that is slowing things down is one of the best things in the release and also sets you apart from the others is how massive the animations you do. Let alone the extra mile on the branching paths. Will season 3 be released on steam about the same time as patreon
No, the Patreon release comes first, after which I will finalize the Steam/GOG platform releases. There are some other challenges there to deal with.

It never ceases to amaze me how much work goes into a "game" that the average joe (looking at you, Steam commenters) just gets off to. Although, I would venture say that true fans of this story (myself included) understand the complexity of the characters and some, I imagine, have even developed real feelings for the girls and their stories. You have a true talent for bringing stories to life in a way that actually connects with your audience. And, while another 2 months of renders alone seems agonizing, I am truly looking forward to seeing how this season ends.
It's not just the technical side of things that get me. I've brought this up before after Episode 10 dropped the amount of work that goes into any game where this is multiple branching stories. It only gets larger from here. Unless you close some doors if you understand my meaning. Blows my mind. Think back on the ME trilogy. They had a whole ass team to do this. Doc is one guy. Crazy.

Fr dude compare season 1 as a whole to just the last episode and the quality and lenght is so insanely improved. This is one of those games i happily support monthly 💪

(I figure even though I have S3 from here, I'm going to just buy it on Steam as well so I don't have to worry about other download locations and whatnot in the future. It is worth re-buying anyway.)
