Roll the dice!
Some gamers can be very annoying in the way they refuse to just roll the £$%^! dice when asked. No you DON'T need to know every last possibility first - just roll!

When I played along time ago, we made the DM roll the dice hidden for alot of situations. A nice way to make powerfull characters... a little bit more susceptible to enemy attacks and own misses.
