Free mod... and yup, it is a tractor.
So... I made a tractor mod for ETS2.
Why? Good question. 😄
For me, this was mainly a learning project. I wanted to figure out how to convert a fully drivable vehicle into the game, get everything working properly, and learn the whole process from start to finish.
I don’t model things myself yet — I’m not quite at that level. At this point, I could probably model a square wheel and be very proud of it
So yes, the whole idea of putting a tractor into ETS2 may seem completely pointless. Farming Simulator exists for a reason, after all.
But I have to admit... driving a tractor around a proper 1:1 map like Real Poland is way more fun than I expected.
It’s slow, completely unnecessary, slightly ridiculous... and somehow really enjoyable.
The mod currently includes:
Claas Arion 420
Joskin Drakkar trailer
my own license plates
a slow-moving vehicle warning triangle
a few quickly added cargo options for the Joskin, because crawling around the map with an empty trailer felt even more pointless 😄
The tractor has been tested on ETS2 1.61.
The physics still need some work, so don’t expect Farming Simulator levels of tractor handling just yet. This was my first drivable vehicle conversion, after all.
And yes... for reasons I still don’t fully understand, I’m actually planning to keep updating this thing. 😄
I’d like to add more trailers in the future, improve the physics, and replace the current cargo with properly modeled loads.
Since this was mainly a learning project, I’m releasing the mod completely free.
Honestly, I’d be embarrassed to charge anyone for it.
A huge thank you goes to the guys from Farming Duds, who kindly gave me permission to use their Claas Arion sounds in this project. I’m genuinely grateful for that — they really helped bring the whole thing to life.

Hey, having several slots on the roof and on the trailer would be great—and a lift axle for the trailer too!^^
The two-axle Joskin doesn’t have an option to lift the front axle. And for now, I’m not planning to keep expanding the mod with new features or content.
Hi, the mod looks good, but when i try to activate it in mod manager, it says its incompatible, i play on 1.61 so it should work
It’s probably because you don’t have the Cabin Accessories DLC installed.
will there be styling like lights and stuff later?

This was so much fun in VR. I couldn't work out how to find a job for it but it really didn't matter

Interesting expirirence and good tractor. But i have some thougts about it. If you plan to develop it further i think that creating more optimised for ETS2 reality gearbox and engine will be a good idea. Not for realism, but for playabily. Tractor here is a truck of sime kind, after all. Need 40 km/h speed on 1200-1300 rpm with balanced fuel consumtion. From now on it`s not wery efficient with 34-35 km/h on 2300 rpm with big fuel consumtion. But it`s only my opinion, no more.

Considering how much work this conversion took, I’m starting to wonder whether this is really creativity… or just some form of masochism :D
You need to start somewhere so its okay if its an tractor i also want going into modding but i don't even know where to start so
I’m lucky enough to have quite a few friends in the modding community who have always been happy to help whenever I got stuck. I’d also wholeheartedly recommend Half Fast Gaming on YouTube — there are tons of really useful tutorials there.
