[News] New lore Video + Weekly report!
Hello everyone!
While the programmers are still reworking the combat, and the newly hired cinematic artist works on the new quests, I have made another lore video talking about Kalyskah.
This time, it is about what vampire myths are true and what stories inspired us, so make sure to take a look!
I also asked our programmer to make a technical video showing what he has been working on this month, but that one might take a bit longer because he will only record it when he has a breather after actually finishing the task!
What is left to do before the next demo release?
The system to merge the character meshes into a single one, improving the tick performance of the game, which will give your CPU more room to breathe, is done. What we are doing now is tying this system into the game’s inventory, which is a complex task because it requires us to link the new functions into multiple places, from the data tables, which are how we save the item lists, to the user interface, and how the game recognises that the character’s clothes were updated before making a new merged mesh.
As for the combat, what is missing is mostly polishing, as I mentioned, but we also noticed that the feeding mechanics broke when we updated the collisions. So we decided to take the moment to revamp that system and make a more reliable one, while also implementing a stagger system where Kalyskah’s attacks can get parried and make her lose her combat flow.
On the quest side, the new cinematic artist has finished the Cargo at Bay quest. I have written the one that follows right after, called The Hand that Feeds, but she is revisiting some old cutscenes before working on the new one, so we can hopefully work on it once we get the new audio for the voice lines.
Thank you very much for your support and have a great day!
