[News] Quests + Steam Key Question!
Hello everyone!
Just passing by quickly to say that the writer of Rise of the White Flower is back this month to give us a hand with the quests. We have been reviewing together some of the activities implemented in version 0.24, such as Kalyskah rescuing a captive, the follow-up quest with Brooke where she goes after a missing acolyte, and also some encounters in the woods of the prologue.
The goal is to polish Kalyskah’s language a bit more before we send it to the voice actors, hopefully later this month!
That is happening in the background while our programmer finishes transferring some of the code to C++ before we can release the next demo. This week, we will be testing whether anything broke since he started this refactor, and if everything goes well, we will follow up with a patch later this month.
We are also looking into how we can make it so our patrons receive a Steam key once Early Access begins. As far as I seen for other games, creators tend to make so you need to have pledged a certain amount over the last few years. So if you have had experience supporting a game on Patreon and later received a Steam key for it, please let us know how it went. We would love to hear your perspective!

I think the most fair option would be to include lifetime or past year contributions. This way, you would include both kind of people who prefer to make a one time payments or distribute their cost over multiple months. Personally, I saw lifetime (like message patreon once reached enough "credit") goals, steam key tiers or contributions until release date. Once, I received a keys for an already released games at retail price. Otherwise it was often a slight overpay for early access, but lower tiers/contributions received a key too when release happened.
The price point varies but generally it is close (maybe a little less) to the Early access or final price depending on if they are releasing an early access version. So if Early Access release price is 30 they may ask for 25 in patreon pledges or if the release price is 60 they ask for 50. It also depends in if they have "exclusive" free dlc for patreons that they are not releasing or charging non-patreons to access.
Mostly I had to contribute minumum 50$ in total or at least the final retail price over time. The amount depended mostly on the kind of game and its development effort.
I have recieved 2 steam keys for patreon projects. Both tracked a total dollar amount per account, so say you had to contribute $60 to get the key, that's 6 months at the $10 tier, or 3 months at the $20 tier, ect.
Same for me. There was also a tier to get the Key in one shot.
