Pit stops and staff tools: EvoForge 1.1.42

Thank you for supporting EvoForge! 1.1.42 brings mandatory pit stops to solo races, hosted servers and championships, gives club staff the tools to run their championships (drivers, grids, results, Steam IDs), lets you remove an aid from a car in Tuning, smooths the roads of the track builder, and fixes what you reported.

Mandatory pit stops

  • Everywhere you race. Solo races (Race › Session card: 0 to 5 stops, the pit window, tyre change, refuelling; shown in the summary at the bottom and in your saved starts), Host a server (the option moved out of Advanced settings into the essentials, under the race length) and club events and championship rounds (event editor, with a chip on the event page: “Mandatory stop · tyre change · 10 min window”). Reuse a previous round copies it with the other settings.

  • The game’s own rule. Assetto Corsa EVO only enforces a mandatory stop in a timed race longer than 20 minutes. Elsewhere the option stays visible, greyed out, and says why. On a server, the pit window is centred on mid-race.

  • Seen in game: in a solo race and on a hosted server, the game shows the mandatory stop with its requirements (pit window, tyre change) and a stop counter for every driver, AI included.

  • Two fixes on the way: the server of an event no longer takes the stop you ticked the last time you hosted, and in a solo race weekend the stops are now read from the race session instead of the first session.

Club staff run their championships

  • Add a driver to a championship (Entrants › + Add): a club member, a friend or a friend code, then their car, livery and number. It works after registration has closed and in members-only championships; the driver is entered in every round to come.

  • A round’s grid: + Add, and a ⋯ menu for each driver: car and number, change their car, take them off this round.

  • Correct results, even final ones. Results became final 72 h after the race and mistakes seen later stayed. Staff can now open them again (Correct): fix a driver’s laps and times, remove a line, add a driver to the results, set the finishing order of an untimed race. Championship standings, ballast and trophies follow at once.

  • Declare a driver’s Steam ID on their registration (paste the address of their Steam profile), and fix a wrong one. It only applies to that registration, never to the driver’s profile, and it is cleared once that Steam account is linked to EvoForge by its owner. A Steam ID already linked to another account is refused.

Tuning: remove an aid

  • Tuning › Equipment › Remove this aid for ABS, traction control, stability control and EDL, when the car has them. Only the OFF step stays: the aid is gone from the setup screen, the HUD and the in-car menu. It stays removed when the car is rebuilt or repaired, and Put this aid back gives the original steps back exactly. Useful when a mod gives ABS and traction control to a car that never had them.

  • Garage › offered settings: switching off traction control (or an ABS with several steps) looked off but the steps stayed in game. It now really removes them, and a repair or a new conversion no longer reopens what you closed. Switch it off again on cars where you had done it.

Track builder: smoother roads

  • Roads imported from the map are no longer bumpy. The elevation survey is read across the width of the road and smoothed to the law of a real road surface, checked against the game’s own laser scan of Brands Hatch: the worst bump on an imported Brands Hatch is now 4 times smaller, as smooth as the scan. Dips over streams and small bridges in GPX imports are gone.

  • Your existing projects are smoothed the same way when you open them: open the project and build it again. The Fine bumps option is gone.

Fixes from your reports

  • Paddock records: the game’s telemetry describes the car the camera follows. If you sat in the pits watching an AI car, its laps were filed as your record. A lap now only counts when the camera is on your own car.

  • Converted tracks: no more palm trees on tracks that never had any (tracks in Australia and the southern hemisphere, and around the Mediterranean). A palm is only planted where the mod has one; the real palms of a track stay. Convert the affected tracks again.

  • Host a server › Friends only: the password is shown as you type it. It was displayed in capitals while the game expects the exact case.

Thanks again: you are the reason EvoForge stays free for every driver. Feedback is welcome on the Discord: https://discord.gg/x3w7eCDFkK
