I have made science transgender. I have done this for you.

Looking forward to an orderly, polite comments section on this one!

It took me a few months from the time that I filmed this to edit it, because throughout the process I kept wondering if this approach would actually yield results. You know how they say that data doesn't change people's minds, only feelings do? I worried that I was taking too strong an approach towards "here's the info, you're wrong" and it would turn people off. I'm still worried, to be honest.

But on the other hand, I think the video has utility in a "you're not crazy for thinking this" kinda way. As obvious as this information may be to most of my viewership, I'm sure it's still nice to hear it laid out once in a while. Breadtube™©® tends to focus (to our detriment, often) on changing hearts and minds of sloppy clowns whose hearts and minds are calcified beyond changing. Sometimes it's worthwhile to just state the obvious, because when the whole world is committed to denying the obvious, it needs to be stated.

9:37 I think they meant thought-termimating. No such thing as slime-terminating. Slime is forever. Slime is eternal.

Never has science been so dateable

I *PROMISE* I'm not mentioning this stuff to be a nitpicky prick (a nitpricker?), but I wanted to mention a couple things my editor eye caught (I know that things like these can be "openings" that assholes use to disregard an idea without thinking critically about it): 11:11 - steps 1 through 3 have periods at the end, step 4 doesn't have a period (this one is pretty innocuous) 22:54, 23:31, and 23:46 - "inherent" is spelled incorrectly 23:19 - "showed" is missing the "e" Again - I swear I'm not trying to be judgy and just trying to help (ugh...can you tell I grew up with a parent who needed to hear that constantly?) As for the video content - I absolutely agree that stating what has gone unsaid is absolutely important - everyone is prone to forgetting a truth because a lie has been been said too often. I find myself often feeling similarly about how often conservatives will just lie about anything and everything - like, I know we can't *fully disregard* someone's assertion *just* because they're conservative, but I just can't understand why "keep in mind, conservatives have a well-documented history of prolifically lying about anything and everything if that lie serves their ends" isn't the preface to ANY time a conservative assertion is reported.

Obviously beside the point, but those earrings are so cute!

With how often we're rambled at with unscientific bigotry, it's good to have reminders that we're not insane. I appreciate this.

I think even if this doesn't win over any transphobes, it's still a great reminder. Speaking only for myself, but assuming that it's true for others, I can get bogged down in the wrong arguments and discussions sometimes. I knew the difference between "scientific" and "truthful" statements before I watched this, but bigots are great at muddying conversations, so it's easy to slip into the error of conflating them. This video serves as an excellent reminder not to do that, and also illustrates how much easier it is to respond to a transphobe's invalid framing than it is to disprove their claim entirely. Thanks for helping us fight back against Fascists that want to Waste Our Time.

I think your worry would be a valid concern if your video was the only video in the world on, like, trans people. But here on Earth, I think I've seen one or two other pieces of media on the topic. If you're worried there aren't enough emotional pleas out there, I think you don't need to worry about that? Building a solid data science-based argument is an absolutely constructive and valuable use of your time, and I'm sure it will be reinforcing and uplifting for those who need it! Thank you!

Oh boy two videos and all within less than a month's time. Hopefully that means Mildred's doing really good
