Akane has worms! Now, Death Note has worm holes! Did Nonna watch a documentary about worms lately? 🤣🤣 🪱🪱 Seriously, though, this is getting crazy and I can not wait to see the next installment. I have a feeling if I watched this on my own I would binge the series in one sitting, lol. See y'all next time!

that missing detective still sticking around as a background plot point is interesting. iirc, he worded it something like "in a way that no one would be inconvenienced" , suggesting that it _could_ be so far out of the way that she may well never be found -- if they can find her body in a timely manner, they could potentially track her movements leading up to it, which could indeed be very inconveniencing. it's suggested that she hung herself ... maybe showing it on-screen would have just been gratuitous? but keeping that plot point floating around in the background does make it seem like it's being kept for a future twist. (i've got several ideas; but all of them seem like bad/cheesy/lazy writing, so i'll just keep them quiet for now) i think Light's biggest mistake, very early on, was not dropping distractions from the get-go, by only staying local instead of also going international. clear-out the FBI Most Wanted list, for example. then move on to any publicly available convict inmate list of any country that makes that kind of thing available. aside from that, some of Light's interactions with L have certainly felt like someone who knows "L knows i know i've been caught, but we both know that we both know i still have complete deniability". the copycat, Misa, is deffo dropping some chaos in the mix. but her goal is just to be noticed by Senpai -- just like a typical idiot fangirl (albeit a very dangerous one). and yes, the copycat is a bit obvious, given the speed and nature of escalation -- it's too uncalculated. given Light's nature, he'd immediately dismiss such a strategy, because the timing would be too coincidental -- he'd think it would be too obvious of a panic move. but if my goal was to actually sow chaos, i might do something really insidious. like shredding up pages of the Death Note and contaminating a papermill ... one that supplies the newspaper press, so now we have mass "delusions" of people seeing Shimigami (everyone who touches a newspaper can see one now). or slipping pages in to an appointment-setter's appointment book , or a police investigator's note pad.
