SimSweep 2.0 is here.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it. The old SimSweep was ugly. Functional, but ugly. And it bugged me every single time I opened it knowing you guys were using that version while I was sitting on something so much better.

So I pushed 2.0 out early. Bugs and all. Because you deserved to see what she actually looks like now.

This is a complete rebuild. Not an update, not a patch, not a fresh coat of paint. New engine. New UI. New everything. If you used v1, forget it. This is a different app.

To my supporters

I want to take a second here. Some of you have been with SYVR since before SimSweep even had a name. You connected your Patreon, you reported bugs, you told me what sucked and what didn't. That feedback is literally baked into this rebuild.

To my Operatives, you're the reason this thing keeps moving forward. I have a day job. SimSweep is the thing I come home and pour my free time into because I genuinely love building it. Your support is what makes that sustainable. I don't take that lightly.

Thank you. For real. 🖤

So what's new in 2.0

The whole UI. Glassmorphism design across the board. 18 themes. It actually looks like a real app now instead of something I hacked together in a weekend (which, to be fair, v1 kind of was).

EKG Health Monitor. Your dashboard now shows a live heartbeat waveform based on your CC health. Clean folder, strong pulse. Messy folder, flatline. It sounds like a gimmick until you see it. Then it clicks.

Crash Log Analyzer. Your game crashes, you get an unreadable XML dump, and you're supposed to somehow figure out which mod did it. SimSweep now parses those files, pulls the traceback, and matches it against your installed script mods. It just tells you what broke.

Automated 50/50. The most painful troubleshooting method in Sims modding, fully automated. SimSweep splits your folder, detects game launches, tracks rounds, and narrows it down. Session persistence so you can close the app and come back to it. No more doing this by hand.

Mod Compatibility Database. Cross-references your mods against ~460 known broken or outdated mods. Patch day rolls around and you instantly know what's flagged.

Corrupt File Detection. Broken .package files that other tools silently skip? SimSweep catches them and puts them front and center.

Incremental Scanning. First scan builds a cache. Every scan after that skips unchanged files and runs way faster.

File Watching and Auto-scan. Connected members get automatic rescanning when files change and auto-scan on launch so your dashboard is always current.

Save Game Scanning. Operatives get deep scanning that parses your actual save file for Build/Buy usage detection. This is how SimSweep knows which placed furniture and objects are actually from CC.

Whitelist System. Operatives can protect specific creators, folders, or files from ever being flagged as unused. Import and export across installs.

Conflict Detection Details. Operatives see exactly which packages share overlapping CAS or Object IDs, with recommendations on what to keep.

What hasn't changed

The philosophy. SimSweep is a community tool first. The free tier isn't a demo. It's the full diagnostic toolkit: scanning, 50/50, crash logs, compatibility checks, corrupt detection, quarantine. All of it, no Patreon required. I built this because I needed it and I know a lot of you need it too. I'm not going to gatekeep that.

Connected and Operative tiers exist to keep the lights on and fund development. Not to hold features hostage.

Bugs

This release came early because I couldn't stand making you look at the old UI anymore. That means bugs are going to happen. Expect multiple updates rolling in as I fix and adjust things. I'll try to only push significant changes so you're not updating every five minutes.

If something breaks, hit the in-app bug report button or reach out here. I read everything.

What's next

More tools. More diagnostics. Deeper broken CC detection, patch day mode, scan diffs between sessions. SimSweep is just one piece of what SYVR is building. Stick around.

Thank you for being here. Whether you just linked your free Patreon or you've been an Operative since day one, you're part of this. 🖤

Download below if you have a version older than 1.8.1 or just new around here :)

hey, it keeps crashing on me after it's been open for a few minutes and it won't let me update either. am i doing something wrong?

I might have broke the new update from being able to update from inside the app. I touched a lot of files this time around so I might have slipped somewhere. You can download the newest version 4.1.0 from SimSweep.com and it will uninstall the older version and install the new version.

THIS IS SOOO AWESOME!! This really helped me so much. Now for the real test, open my game up and see if it is running smoothly now.

How do I use this??

SYVR · March 1, 2026

Which part specifically? When you first open the app, it should be relatively empty. The first thing you will do, is click start scan. It will scan your mods folder and tray folder and automatically tell you which files you're currently not using in your saved games. After the scan go to the brose page (located in the sidebar) and there you will see categories at the top listing All, Used, Unused, etc. By going into the unused category, everything it shows are currently not being used in your game.

First of all, I love this tool so far and I'm planning to recommend it to all my simmer friends after I play with it a bit more. I just wanted to give a little bit of feedback because I know this is still actively in development: - While in the Browse window, the "All Folders" dropdown is *almost* useful, but I wish it was scrollable. - I also wish it handled subfolders better. Right now, I have a folder called "Non-Script" with subfolders "CAS Only" "BB Only" "Gameplay Only" and "CAS-BB-Gameplay Mix", and each of those have subfolders with the creators' names. If I want SimSweep to only show me all items in the "Non-Script/CAS Only", it shows me nothing because technically everything is nested in subfolders. Except I can't even select "Non-Script/CAS Only" from the dropdown because it isn't scrollable and all my subfolders from "BB Only" are clogging up the list. - Also in the Browse window, I really wish I could right-click on an item and "Show Location" to open a Finder/Explorer window of where that file is physically located. (Knowing how past-me sorted things helps present-me remember what the files do.)

- I also wish I could sort by "Unused" and "CC Type" filters at the same time.

Gave it a try after seeing the reddit post, it said i can "reclaim storage" but it just removed mods I was even using in game and still needed, so i had to move it all back anyway. i dont rrally get how this feature works.

I'm making videos today to go over every part of the app so it can all make sense. There has been a lot of changes since I decided to go public with it so it's a bit to grasp. Thank you for your feedback and thank you for trying it out!

Hello, I received several reports that you're scraping my website for the Mod Compatibility Database option. I'd appreciate if you would remove my mod database from this app.

S
SYVR · February 24, 2026

Hey Scarlet, I want to clear this up because there are a couple things being assumed here that aren't accurate. SimSweep does not scrape your website. There is no code in the app that makes any requests to your site, pulls from your pages, or automates any kind of download. Zero network calls to your domain. If you check your server logs, you won't find any automated traffic or bot-like patterns from SimSweep or anything associated with it. Your data also isn't in SimSweep. I used your list along with many other sources as a reference to know which mods to look into, then built my own compatibility system by fingerprinting the actual package files independently. None of your status info, notes, links, or creator data is stored or redistributed in the app. The system runs entirely on local file hashes that I generated myself. If my tool runs across a mod that I haven't personally went and verified then it marks as unknown and I manually verify from the actual mod creator. I get that you put a lot of work into maintaining your list and I understand wanting to protect it but what's in SimSweep is original data built from my own methods. Your list (along with regular google searches) only pointed me to what type of mods and creators I should focus on first.

Looks very promising and impressive. I tried to send this bug report but the program did nothing when clicking "Send Report". Bug Report (As a free user): 1. Clicking the button to quarantine duplicate conflict files does nothing, duplicates are selected, I click the orange button and nothing happens. 2. Clicking connect to Patreon results in endless "Connecting..." Message but does nothing. (Edit: Connection took place after many minutes and closing and re-running program as admin) 3. Scan produced results for broken CC that I disagree with as it contains a massive list of over 12k files flagged as broken but many of the files flagged as broken I have used recently and work fine in-game and I believe have been flagged "broken" falsely. 4. "Change Sims 4 folder" option is hit or miss whether it works and when it does it is extremely laggy and function occurs minutes after selection. (Note: My Documents folder & Sims 4 Mods folder are symlinked/junctioned and the files are physically on a different drive that has actual more storage capacity than my C drive, and the paths shown in settings do not reflect those symlinks/junctions to the physical files. I don't know if that would affect anything.)
