Important update — please read if you have SimSweep installed 🚨

So I have some embarrassing news. The auto-updater has been broken since day one.

A single character typo in the code meant that every time you clicked "Update Now" it was silently doing nothing in the background. No error, no feedback, just quietly failing every single time. I didn't catch it until now because I never properly tested it after launch and that's fully on me.

The good news is 1.7.8 fixes it completely. The bad news is because the updater itself was broken, it can't push this fix to you automatically. You'll need to manually uninstall your current version and download 1.7.8 fresh. After that the auto-updater will work properly and you'll never have to do this again.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Uninstall your current version of SimSweep

2. Download the new installer from the link below

3. Run it and you're good to go

This is a one time thing. Once you're on 1.7.8 all future updates will install automatically like they were always supposed to.

1.7.8 also adds a version number display in the bottom left corner of the app so you always know what version you're on, a manual "Check for Updates" button, and proper error messages if an update ever fails instead of just silently doing nothing.
