RIDER OF THE WHITE HORSE

Today's study edited from the 1611 Fellowship is on the Rider Of The White Horse, found in Revelation 6:2. Who is this? And what is its historic fulfillment?

Hi Thomas, You are completely consistent with what scripture declares, the gates of hell would not prevail against the true church and God would preserve his word for all generations. Try as Rome might to stamp out the true church and word of God, they have failed miserably.

I was talking to some people yesterday about the Bible and the words of God, and one of them brought up that throughout history different church fathers and different churches believed different things and could not agree on what the Bible meant. I was pursuing the narrow point that while the early church fathers may have differed in beliefs from time to time, they all used texts that agreed with the 1611, whether they were from the Old Latin (before the Vulgate) or from the Byzantine Majority Texts in Greek. I also said that true Christians continued to use these texts, including when they were translated into Old French and German and such. The guy seemed stuck on the fact that the Christian thinkers we can see in the history books still could not always agree on what the faith actually was, and he has a problem with the Bible being self-authenticating and people deriving meaning from it themselves, without other external authorities to confirm it, whether it’s from church fathers or other figures. It would be cool to have suggestions from you guys for approaches in how to talk about this stuff. To me, when I see two or three witnesses, or when I remember certain themes in the Bible, the meaning becomes pretty obvious and clear, but it sometimes amazes me how little others, perhaps nonbelievers, get out of it. Another little thing, more to do with what I started with above, is that I also find it interesting that there have always been churches and groups who did not always fall under communion with authorities in Rome, even before any documented schisms or reformations. It also interests me that church figures in Rome are not always documented from the earliest days to carry papist or Babylonian doctrines. So the historical case for supporting Catholic structures and doctrines is not watertight on the side of Catholic apologists. Anyway, I just thought I would share some thoughts that occurred to me in some of my recent conversations with others. And again, it would be cool to hear from others how they approach the matters that I was talking about.

I write this because the historical details show how the words of God can be documented not to have been changed throughout history and also to show how they were preserved outside of the formal authority of the figures in Rome, not to mention questioning whether the Catholics are right in saying that the figures in Rome always believed the way papists today believe or the way people at the Council of Trent or Vatican Council 1 or 2 believed. The history I sometimes focus on also shows how there were always churches who did not operate or form within documented adherence to Roman Babylonian authority and doctrine. It also shows the Mustard Seed bearing fruit without just forcing people to submit to Roman Babylonian authority.

Good question! Without looking into it further as yet (I will soon), I go with the Psalmes exclusively.

Yes! History confirms prophecy.

Hi Roy, The Reformers and Post-Reformers witnessed the persecutions, or they knew people who did, unlike Christians today who have no relationship with the reality of Antichrist's brutality. Deliverance from the oppression of Rome was obvious to anyone with half a brain. Yet, today ambivalent Christians are blindly marching back to Rome; they embrace Jesuit doctrines and any number of corrupt Bibles, romish by any other definition. How few people have read Wylie, Guinness and Elliot, true Bible scholars that warned Christians about Rome. The majority of Christians have become rapture-crazed futurist fools, believing fantasies and speculations that have no substance in scripture or history.

Thank you Reg. As always, there is only one way to interpret scripture and you explained it completely. I have a hard time emotionally reading the several available accounts of martyrdom of believers. There is no more hated person in the World than a true believer in Jesus Christ. I recently read JA Wylie's account of the persecution of reformed Christians in France in the 17th-19th centuries. Extreme suffering. Many of them had to live for decades as slaves and prisoners before their deaths. Incredible examples of faith. My hope is that, if I were ever in that situation, I will remain steadfast and would see heaven opened and the great throne revealed like Stephen did during his stoning. (Fauci . . Jesuit-educated at Fordham. His name means "sickle" in Italian. Grim reaper indeed.)

on what determines faith. what goes on in my head, is a disgrace to me (as anyone else who ponders themselves, in the light of scripture, also knows), even the things i did when young. but much worse the things that i used to believe or scoff, about God, even if i did not speak it. and i despised every man, for no particular reason. i vastly regret what i have been (am), because it's against God, who is infinitely pure, gracious and true. so i wait for the blessed hope every-day, and praise is for God, who saves sinners. i can't wait till its over. 1 John 2:17, Hebrews 8:10, 1 Thessalonians 4:8

(cont on sheep..) i also wanted to bring up a childrens/family movie that i watched the other day. (i can sometimes be persuaded..ughh).. it's called, "The Sheep Detectives". randomly in the middle of the movie, they decide to openly mock God and Christianity. i was in shock but everyone around me was laughing. these people claim they are Christians or "atleast" cultural-christians. (clip - https://youtu.be/XIrXEGadjiY) i also found it interesting that there was a sacrifice of sheep (a ram, to save his herd). there was also a sheep with fowl stench (a disease of the mouth, called Orf) under his tongue, which seemed to poison people when it spoke or breathed. there was also a black sheep, with lightning, and cover of night. this apparently was their saviour. and they talked about clouds, and becoming clouds. that "men dont die, but sheep go into the sky to become clouds"...something like that. there was also a scene, where the sheeps forgot, on purpose, and seemed to become zombies of a sort. they had the ability to forget their pain, and the dark things in life. very cult-like. but this was not healthy, and seemed to me like gaslighting. "if you just close ur eyes, nothing bad will happen." a lot going on in that movie..spiritually (other than brainlessness).

i would also like verses, on winter, and the seasons, if anyone has any that come to mind. in the movie, there is a lamb that is called a winter-lamb (and, as much as this is a real thing in sheep-farming, i would like to look deeper), a person, in a season. not, the seasons themselves (altho, feel free).

some thoughts on famines. the drought in UK has destroyed a ton of crops. and in the livestock knackeries, there's 800% more the amount of expected sheep corpses reported and taken away this week *in Devon, (water and heat, and Bluetongue - insect mediated - diseases). A LOT. so many dying in the fields, i dont know how many farmers will make it financially, either. news not talkin about it - the chronic part, not the acute part. after covid, many sold or were paid to stop farming animals and stop planting crops. 1000s and 1000s of sheep were culled and destroyed for money. it is (timewise) impossible to re-establish what has been lost. there are not enough breeding female sheep left to do so or cover the shortfall (production, meat, lambs) i dont know why this is being allowed, but been watching incoming famine. technically have been in a financial/economic one for several years at this point: UK is already purchasing and out-pricing poorer countries of general wheat/corn for human usage. now it's likely that they will have to fund livestock food replacements/imports, as well. there aint no food on hills. thats why they grow sheep on hills.
