Hi Ellen, It's a hard question. I don't think we can be sure.
Yes I guess it’s stated also in 9 that only God knows: “……and with a willing minde: for the LORD searchcheth all hearts, and vnderstandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts…”
About Solomon being redeemed I see in 1 chronicles 28:7 “…… if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgements, as at this day” and then in same chapter 9 “……but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for euer “ Based on these, does it suggest he was cast off forever?
Emphasis on if and but
If anyone else has references they want to share, I would gladly look at them with interest. I also enjoy reflections on them. It’s great to share the Wisdom and Word of God. It reminds me of Paul saying we share one Spirit and Jesus saying wherever two or three of you gather, there am I, as well as his exhortation to feed the sheep.
here, compassion, and face 2 Chronicles 30:9
Something to start with: Psalm 17:15: As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. This reminds me of Paul’s letters, in which he lays out how we are to become like Jesus Christ in heaven. It also reminds me of the place in Revelation where it says we are supposed to be wearing robes of righteousness, which of course can come only by Jesus Christ.
Once I watched a movie about King David and one little theme in it was his strong desire to see God’s face. That memory stuck with me snd I have been reading all of the instances in which the Bible uses the face of God in its verses. There are quite a few, but reading anything written by David is a true treasure and it’s easy to find resonance between his life of faith and mine. It is a wonderful part of our relationship to God when we are able to see God’s face and awake from our slumber to see him for who he is, in all his righteousness and glory. We are destined by grace through faith to become as his likeness and wear his righteous robes, and the Psalms are a wonderful place to put us in remembrance of Christ and find our way back to seeing him as he is, full of mercy and grace and eager to give it to us.
Yes. Being the richest man in the history of the world is nothing without an enduring love of Jesus Christ. Solomon was Bathsheba's son. She is a biblical type for spiritual temptation, nearly destroying David, a type for the strongest faith a man can have. David gave in to temptation, and that sin reverberated through his life and those of his descendants, most notably Solomon. Solomon was the product of that sinful union . . so wise and seemingly connected with God but ultimately torn down by the temptations of the world. My hope is that Solomon ended up like Job . . or the prodigal son . . with full understanding of the futility of this world and grasping to the faith he had neglected. But I fear this verse for him "And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel which had appeared vnto him twise," 1 Kings 11:9. The fact that Solomon is the only Biblical figure brought forward and worshipped in Freemasonry is not a good sign regarding his ultimate spiritual fate. Freemasons also worship "Enoch" although this is Cain's Enoch and not the righteous one taken up into heaven. And, of course, Tubal-Cain. I refer to Freemasonry but that is just one branch of the Antichrist religion flourishing today. Why Cain? the Antichrist religion today believes that Cain's sacrifice was sufficient. They believe that by the works of their hands, they can honor God without the Blood of the Lamb. Solomon may have believed that he was redeemed by building God's Temple. Today, the prosperity/freemason/scientism/alchemist/roman church crowd believe they can create God's kingdom on earth by their works without the return of our Lord. We will soon see. Allelujah
Separate point . . if you want inspiration and sadness and ultimately strengthening in your walk during these last days . . I recommend reading JA Wylie's account of the Reformation in France (a battle lost) and the plight of French Protestants (covered in glory by their suffering). "The Time of the End". Available on Archive. We've referred to the non-conformist Christians in England who were certainly persecuted harshly. But no group of Reformed Christians were treated more harshly for longer than those in France (equivalent if not worse than what happened to the Waldenses, but they had at least some covering by living apart in the mountains.)
Hi Roy, Solomon is indeed somewhat of an enigma. Is he a prime example of how one can fall away from the faith? At the beginning he seemed a man of solid faith and favored by God. But something changed. Perhaps he is a warning to be careful what we strive for, even if our intentions are good. I'm reminded of Jesus' parable of the sower and the seeds; he makes allowance for a person to fall away. It is noteworthy that he's not mentioned in Hebrews 11.
Solomon and his evil ways (not the good ones) are a primary source for the Antichrist religion and worldly thought processes today. EG Solomon's Palace (not the Temple) is worshipped today in Freemasonry. A symbol of aspiration to worldly perfection. "Worldly perfection" of course is an oxymoron. There is no perfection of this world without the next coming of Jesus Christ. Solomon was not listed in the NT "Hall of Faith" . . Hebrews 11 . . there is considerable question whether he will be redeemed. Is he an example of a man to whom God gave his reward in its entirety during his lifetime?
Verily, and Verely (i say unto thee etc), is another spelling difference im keeping eye on, because it's repeated so often
Now see I had not realized that one. I’ll have to watch for it
i had a very bad dream, seemingly the beginnings of the forever-experience of hell (which has been on mind lately too, trying to understand the nature of it), and it was so disturbing, i will not write it here (if you know, you know), for fear of disturbing every man greatly also, and now am trying to recover, it felt realer than this life
in any case, im sure that the evil and corrupt bibles shall be there in hell also , along with all other things that offend
I commented on my spelling variations notations of word Iland, yland etc below in the Ephesians discussion June 17 recording
Amen, Ellen. The richness of the text is unmatched by so-called modern English. So much is lost when academic standardization becomes the rule. Hopefully, we can catalogue all the variations in spellings, and publish them. I don't think there's anything like it on earth. God Bless.
I get very excited too!
what gets me is that all of these were there all along 🤯 im reminded of a verse , of kings finding things (good), but can't remember the rest right now, or the number
Thank you for the study of the carkeise, carcaise, carkasse, etc….word Hillis. I cherish all those word spellings that the majority call errors. No error. It’s God’s built in validation system for those with eyes to see and ears to heare. John 10:27
Praise God! You're very welcome.
Thank you.
I must say that this is meat you'll NEVER get from ANY denomination's institutional churches ANYWHERE - especially in the USA!
