EMPTY BELIEVISM, EVIDENCE OF SALVATION, EPHESIANS 1:1-3

Hillis teaches the first part of the 1611 Fellowship meeting, contrasting empty believism with characteristics of true faith. After that, Reg raises the question of evidence of faith, briefly looking at scriptures that seem contradictory. The final segment of the meeting deals with Ephesians 1:1-3 that seem, superficially, to provide arguments against the Divinity of Jesus Christ. John explains why the translators of the 1611 KJB spelled saints, Saincts.

Jesus analogized our faith/belief to seeds. Seeds need time to grow. The right soil and other conditions to grow in. Enduring faith needs to grow deep roots to survive temptation and tribulation. When thought of this way . . . rather than questioning someone's "belief" . . . we need to provide them the Living Water (the Word), help to keep the Tares (temptations) from choking them out, make sure they get plenty of Light (peaceful interaction, prayer, loving support). We are to be that Light (Matthew 5:14-16) that helps that seed of faith in others grow. Questioning someone else's belief may be necessary to protect the flock (Jesus warned of wolves in sheep's clothing). We certainly can know someone by their fruit. But we also love our enemies. We shouldn't appoint ourselves the arbiters or generally be accusers of non-belief. Satan will be their on the final day to bring that accusation. I think this is what Reg was getting at when he said it is not our business who is saved and who isn't.

Hi Thomas, I used to suffer from anxiety when I was younger. For me it was rooted in not being able to control things and worrying about the future. Fortunately, I no longer struggle with anxiety. I will keep you in my prayers.

Thank you. Sometimes I just get into some thought patterns. I just need to keep everything in proper, realer perspective.

I don’t often feel very at peace in comparison to others. I’m not a very confident person, and I’m sensitive to the thoughts and feelings of others, and I have a higher level of anxiety than most people. Sometimes I wonder whether this means I don’t have a peace beyond understanding, given to me by God, but I know that I can cast my cares upon God and take no thought of tomorrow. I can direct my gaze towards God even when I feel bad. I can pray and do what I can to believe in his promises.

@Thomas Bergman going to point out that these public-private thoughts/ideas have kept this "unresolved" shape for a while. its time to smash some perspective into them. also remember a recent couple posts here about thoughts and the nature of them? see u on the other end of a phonecall
