IDSG Bonus 6 -- Red Dwarf: Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers
In this bonus episode, Jack and I are joined by our friend James Murphy (http://www.twitter.com/JimCrop1916) to discuss the 1988 science fiction comedy novel Red Dwarf: Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers, based on the BBC series Red Dwarf. It seems a bit off-topic for our subject matter, 1) but the book and series contain themes that are deeply resonant to the psychology and sociopolitical dynamics of fascist personalities and 2) the three of us all deeply love the book and wanted an excuse to talk about it.
Enjoy. We certainly did.

Oh wow. So i'm not the only one who read the book first. Something not mentioned that i like about the series is it was one of the hardest scifi shows around. No FTL. All the aliens descended from Earth life. AFAIR most of what was shown was possible by contemporary physics - with a big enough power supply.
Sweet! I've been meaning to dig my copy of the Science Fiction Book Club's hardcover reprint out of storage...
I love that series so much!
