GCODE 02⏐ PART 05 ⏐ Rhino and Grasshopper
Welcome back to Part 5 of the Growth series! In this video, we unlock many new pattern combinations using a custom-built node that takes all of our points and assigns values to them based on their 3D location
Here is what we cover
Two Main Pattern Systems: We organize our script into two primary pattern clusters. You will see how we combine repeating sub-patterns to create highly complex, interwoven geometries driven by a centralized system.
Seamless Pattern Blending: We eliminate the harsh transitions between our weaves. By dynamically adjusting the weights based on our custom node, we achieve a flawless, smooth geometric transition where the patterns cross over.
Targeted Sub-Pattern Control: We duplicate our setup across the list panels, giving us isolated, parametric control over all four of our individual sub-patterns, as well as the final output and individual amplitude control of our weaves.
By finalizing these transition logics, we also quickly swapped our B-rep input for a generic Geometry node. This simple change ensures our script is versatile enough to accept and pass downstream almost any type of geometry you want to throw at it.
⏭️ What to Expect Next Now that our core system and transitions are working, in the next episode, we will add even more functionality and explore a specific, practical use case to see how this script can be applied in the real world.
