Sadie Gets a Life, 0.3.7 (Bonus?) Dev Log, 2026-10-22

Normally, this is where I'd announce a new release for Tier 3 members. This time, it's going to be a little bit different. Long story short, I came down with some seasonal cruft and that's wrecked my productivity all week. As such, I'm only about two-thirds of the way done with this release. So, here's the plan.

I don't have any Tier 3 subs at the moment (and this is not the week to become one!), so instead of gating the release for Tier 3 subscribers for a week, I'll just put out the general release on its normal date next week. I'm going to prioritize getting all of the important content done, at least once the brain fog finally clears.

In the meantime, while I'm flatlining mentally, I did at least generate a bunch of Anime Mode images for Karin, Mallory, and Neemar. Karin will definitely be in the next release, and Mallory & Neemar will depend on whether I get the more important content done before then. Landon and Kristos probably have to wait until 0.3.8. So let's focus on a few things I was able to accomplish while doing my best to keep toiletry manufacturer and cold medicine stock prices high.

Karin's Anime Mode Update

After Sadie and Dinestra, Karin is the third character to get a total revamp for her Anime Mode images. For this one, let's talk about the various moods of our favorite kitsune.

Generally, Karin is bored.

She considers most enemies beneath her. As an extremely experienced Arctic Fox, she's been there, done that. Granted, she's a lot weaker now than back in the day, but that strength is coming back.

Sometimes, she realizes that she needs to try hard and we can see her concentrate against her foes.

And sometimes, Karin gets angry, mostly because she actually has to do physical work.

Seriously, can't these monsters just, like, run into her staff and die or something?

Oh, and sometimes, Karin gets a bit cheeky, flashing Sadie panties or cleavage. You're more likely to get these on defensive skills like Ice Wall because there has to be some reason to call them, right?

Charting the Freistadt's Critical Path

As we near the end of Act III Part 1, I spent a lot of time today charting out the critical path: the set of quests that a player needs to complete in order to conclude this section of the game. You can, of course, be a completionist and do all of the things. But I needed to make sure that the critical path does not depend on picking up optional party members (Neemar, Karin, or Kristos), does not depend on any specific romance option, and does not require a player to finish loyalty missions for party members.

All told, there are approximately two dozen activities the player has to perform. This includes things like getting to Guild Tier 3, completing the Backdoor Diplomacy and Monster Kingdom missions, unlock changing clothes (which requires Story Time with Ellanon on Tier 4), meeting and working with Jacob's party, going through Colton's Training Corporation, and having a complete conversation with Amerinth.

Along the way, I found a few bugs that would have led to soft locks and corrected them. I've also converted a few things like Colton's Training Corporation and Story Time with Ellanon into proper quests so they show up in your tracker. I figure that, if I'm going to make them mandatory, I should at least warn the player about them.
