Sadie Gets a Life, 0.3.2 Dev Log, 2026-05-21
This is the sprint mid-point, which is the time that I look at how many things are still on the board and get a bit nervous. This sprint, there's still a lot on the table, but what I do have so far is pretty neat. Here's a quick summary of what's in and what will definitely make it.
Spycraft
In last week's dev log, I mentioned a new lockpicking mini-game. This all ties in with a broader theme in the first part of Act III: Sadie focusing more on spycraft than just beating everyone to death. I've brought in a pair of unique (so far) challenges, including a twist on the classic sneak mission that raises the stakes.
New Tiers
Release 0.3.1 opened up a half-dozen tiers. Release 0.3.2 will open up several more. As of right now, we'll have Tiers 15-11, 9-6, and 4 available for players. I've populated those 0.3.1 release tiers that didn't have much going on. For 0.3.2, it'll probably be a similar story: the maps and buildings will be there, but 0.3.3 will fill in some of the gaps. I don't have too many more Tiers to create (thankfully!), so this part of the world will seem a lot more lived-in as we go along.
Two New Outfits
Sadie will have the opportunity to acquire two more outfits. One of them, she'll be able to purchase in a shop on Tier 9 that is now open for business. The other, she'll have to find an interesting person and show off a particular set of skills.
Succubus Hunters
I'm also introducing another new mechanic in Act III: the Succubus Hunters. There will be a bit of a lore dump around them, but the short version is, blame Ellanon for being really good at her job. The way the mechanic works is, as Sadie performs certain deeds (either erotic in nature and in public, or in opposition to the Freistadt government), the pressure level will increase. As the pressure level goes up, the likelihood of Succubus Hunters finding Sadie on the map will increase.
And there's a disincentive for fighting them: if you defeat the Hunters, the pressure level increases further. So why tempt fate? Well, there's a (very) small chance at getting some next-level gear from them. Whether that's worth the risk is your call. Most of the time--sometimes, you just roll snake eyes and get ambushed.
A Date with an Imp
I'll end this one with something I teased in 0.3.1: if you helped out the Isekai Order throughout Act II, Sabrina gives Sadie (through an intermediary) a manuscript. You could finish the manuscript in 0.3.1 and learn a really neat spell that's extremely useful in specific circumstances. In 0.3.2, Sadie has the opportunity to pay Sabrina back with a date. Where does it go from there? That's the big question but not one I'm answering here and now.
