Sadie Gets a Life 0.2.4 Dev Log, 2025-11-20

In last week's dev log, I promised two big changes. Now I have to deliver on them. That's what I get for making promises, I suppose.

Promise number one: a new outfit. Sadie gets to wear a green dress. Specifically, she'll wear it in the casino. Which happens to be the other big change. Boom, dev log done in record time!

Okay, but seriously, let's talk about casinos and dresses. 0.2.4 opens up the Guaranteed Fortune Casino, located in the Entertainment District of Svetlanda. With a name like that, it's obviously a great place to go. Along with this, Sadie picks up a green dress from one of her favorite shops in the city. I won't spoil it by telling you where or why--you'll have to learn the context when you play the game.

Inside the casino, if Neemar is in your party, he'll go off and gamble. When you leave the casino, there's a chance that Neemar wins you money, loses you a small amount, or loses you a large amount. Meanwhile, Sadie can play a very scaled-down version of roulette. She has just under a 50% chance of winning, so play long enough and the house always wins, just like in real life!

Also, if Sadie has Neemar in her party and made a move on him earlier, visiting him in the casino sets up a bit of foreshadowing of future events. But it requires Sadie to pay to play, so to speak.

Aside from gambling, Sadie also has a bunch of killing to do. To that end, there are nine new quests in the Den of Thieves plot line. Some of them are fairly short and others have you cris-crossing the city for clues. There's going to be a lot of content in this upcoming release. I'm in the process of playtesting, removing bugs, and updating the walkthrough in preparation for next week's release for Tier 3 patrons.

Oh, and I've kept two more big secrets back. Tier 3 patrons will learn about them next week and everybody else will get the scoop in two weeks.
