Recap: October 2025
The month went well, not much to show, but plenty of progress under the hood.
😤 Patience System
Characters finally got the patience stat that drains while standing in line. When it hits zero, they simply leave the brothel.
Dryads, at the moment, are the only clients whose patience is affected by the environment - it drains ten times more slowly when standing on vines. In the future, every client type will get their own traits and modifiers affecting patience
🌟 Reputation, Fame & Client Flow
Fame - how well-known your brothel is in the area. Grows with every served client, up to a limit.
Reputation - how satisfied your clients are.
Both influence how many people walk through your door, and both are tracked per client type. That means later, you’ll be able to prioritise specific clients or completely ignore others.
💭 State Icons
Characters and objects now display icons above their heads, showing patience, some states and eventually a bunch of other things.
👻 Ghost & Puppet
The Ghost and Puppet logic are fully implemented.
Ghost animations are very close to their finals, while the Puppet will have some keyframe animations in the first playable (we’ll improve them later).
There’s also a new object: the Puppet Station - basically a ghost trap you attach to walls.
🧱 Object Placement
Wall objects longer than one tile now snap properly to walls. Previously, they were piecing through corners and sometimes could even be hung directly onto the air.
🎵 Sound
Sound is in progress. But we'll have very little of it ready. Literally just some.
🛠️ And Everything Else
A bunch of small fixes, improvements, and little but important UI additions, like control hints, reputation panel or payday timer.
🔮 What’s Next
If all goes as planned, the first playable build should arrive in about two weeks.
It'll be like a small fraction of the game, without major gameplay features like moving your staff, spells, events or slapping everything around with your mighty magic hand, but it’ll be alive - and that’s a pretty big deal.
Thank you Markoloo, marcel2_9, iqinfinity007, Auri, Tea_time and mr. Leviathan, for your support and for sharing this journey with us!
