Australia's Next Economic Powerhouse

[Early Access]
Hello Patrons,

This video is about how the South Australian economy is being supercharged by renewable energy. How did they of all the states manage to get there? Let's take a look, but a lot of the reasons won't surprise you.

We're happy to report that our comeback video is in production now. So expect us to be back posting publicly in the next 2 weeks. We'll hopefully be able to show you that video early too. While we've been a bit quiet over the last few weeks we've actually been working on quite a few longer videos like this energy one and they're all just about finished now. So expect more patreon releases at the end of the week.

Once we're back posting publicly we'll get back into the full swing of doing patreon suggesion polls and bonus videos. Look forward to those!

Thank you all for the support and catch you soon,
The FJ Crew

Fuck yeah SA, also fun fact: we had the only working geothermal power plant in Aus (though was shut down for "not being economically viable" 🤡🥲) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geothermal_power_in_Australia

I'm finding it impossible to politely disagree with boomers quoting the Age and the Guardian at me as though they had anything to say! I tried polite - didn't work. Tried impolite - seriously didn't work.

I remember the good old days (about a year and a half or so ago) when our big bicep Steven Miles government made us the best perofroming state in the country with massive surplusses and really good policy. Now we have the LNP doing basically f all on crime and giving coshee jobs to their mates aswell as not delivering on their promises. *Cries in Queenslander*

Oh fuck off Jordies. This is just a 21st century version of what Tasmania was trying 50+ years ago. Except it's way easier and cheaper today to buy solar/wind compared to building hydro. 75% renewable energy in 2023? Weak. That said, could you delay this video? My IT degree is fucking useless here and the few groups set up here for our green energy are pivoting towards SA. Give a fella a head start. Also, fuck Bob Brown, the Greens, and their stupid triangle.

Renewable energy has always been the logical way to prosperity for this country, with the tidy little side effect of creating a cleaner environment, but that future was deliberately sabotaged by tyrannical dinosaurs. Never thought I'd see the day when SA was held up as a beacon of inspiration, but we do live in interesting times. This video almost, almost, makes me feel hope for that future again.. Solid work FJ.

We really don't pay the public service workers enough. That helps. It's fucked that a Labor government is refusing to increase their pay to the same standard as their peers when they earn 25% less in some cases for the same job. Real wages are much slower here than in other states and the housing situation is now worse too. That being said, it's still the place to be right now. The entire city is a great place to be. I don't even lock my door here most days.

Darren Fleming · February 3, 2026

We finally get the recognition we deserve. I reckon after the March election there will be only 2 opposition seats too!

Is it possible you can do a video on the new Defence Delivery Agency? Defence is plagued with projects that are over-budget & behind-schedule. Minister Marles & Minister Conroy are about to rollout the Defence Delivery Agency to deal with this chronic issue, however, the media will never comment on how transformational this will be. Also, it is the type of policy that should it work, no one will ever realise because it is boring, long-term reform. The media only ever talks about buzz announcements.

F
FredBloggs · February 16, 2026

Do we have the same problem as the USA with Defence having to send stuff back to the manufacturer to be repaired instead of doing it on the spot? I hope not. Also I hope they're better than most of the public service at listening to the people below them and accepting bad news.
