Let's Talk About One Nation

[Patreon Exclusive]

Hello Patrons,

We've seen a lot of discussion surrounding One Nation's surge in popularity and thought it would be a good idea to share Jordan's views on this. Let us know if you think we need to make videos like this when we're back posting publicly soon. Or we could just make fun of Facebook posts from One Nation supporters (or both).

We're hoping to have some updates for you soon about when we can come back to posting more often. But you know the drill when we're in times like these, we're still hard at work on some bigger projects behind-the-scenes. Hopefully we can share those with you early as well, some of them are unlike anything we've worked on before.

Thank you for the support,
The FJ Crew

I left a comment on “news.com.au” Facebook post a few weeks ago in relation to “Hanson being the right fit to lead Australians in the right direction”. I commented “she can barely string two sentences together without tripping over herself.” Immediately attacked as a woke lefty, a labourrrrrrr stooge and told not to trip over my petty coat. 😂😂😂

That'd be good.. on a second note what do you think of the H Speech laws passed??

Yes, please make a public video about the current PHON situation. My wife has been seeing the recent polling and has been getting worried. I explained what happened in QLD and how they’ll have to go from 1 seat in the House of Reps to a majority which isn’t easy. I also explained how preferences will make it hard for them, referencing Antony Green’s recent post about this. My wife and her dad prefer watching your videos and analysis and they are your average semi politically interested person, so I think a public video will help others out there settle the crowd a bit.

Not worried about One Nation in itself. It solely represents the final roar of cultural cringe seen from the last millennium. What I am worried about is the historical rhyme that could occur. It was in 2018 Clive Palmer’s UAP party was leveraged by the media and the Liberal Party to help consolidate further support. It was a small phenomenon given how small the UAPs voting base. Now this time it’s different - it’s bigger - and it’s not as easy for the public to immediately identify who benefits the most. If history doesn’t repeat but rhymes, I’d say: One Nation is a more well organised UAP The Greens and Teals are more organised and opportunistic (whether that be for better but more often worse) than the present day Liberal Party. And the same phenomenon could occur at a larger scale. I do agree that the votes going into One Nation will be scattered. However, I think votes outside of One Nation will flow into extreme answers.

Urgh. Yes, we need some public videos on one nation. Doctor of philosophy Joanna Howe just did an 'exclusive' interview with Pauline and o couldn't even finish it. Was good to see them getting pilloried on X, but the comments on YouTube make them sound like front line Heroes taking on the axis of evil single handedly.

I am a member of the Australian Democrats as I am a believer in consensus government that makes decisions that benefit all Australians, not just the wealthy. I am 59 and I think that Australian governments more fairly distributed the nation's wealth and were less corrupt when there was a strong Australian Democrat presence in parliament. I don't believe having a strong presence like AD was the only thing that get politicians more honest, but I do think the AD shone a light on bad behaviour in politics; and resulted in more open and transparent governance.

FredBloggs · January 24, 2026

As I understand it, they had a fairly big skill set in writing/improving legislation? I voted for them. They really did keep the bastards honest - but I'd love FJ to weigh in on this. Am I looking at the past with rose-coloured glasses?

I went to a One Nation meeting for a new branch in a blue ribbon seat. I went to support a friend who wanted to become more politically active. No really. The ON originals were there, but happily welcoming more of the same, plus a relatively large number of Liberal defectors who are seeing ON as a place to be effective. Being a follower of Susssssan Ley must feel like being a follower of a wet sock. I can definitely see ON getting senators in the next election because of this, and the Reinhart money. They've found at least a couple of people who are being strict on process and infrastructure. Yes, they're already running into big tent problems of trying to accommodate facebook anti-vaxxers, libertarians angry at dark woke for ruining Star Trek, immigrants against further immigration, and people who 'find being welcomed to their own country offensive', but it's an alliance of sorts. Gina won't vote for them, but she'll bankroll them because she's into convincing turkeys to vote for christmas. If there are a few of them in the upper or lower house, they can be pushed around by Liberal operators and loyalty network folk who know what they're doing.

I really enjoy these videos Jordan, logical thinking about the logistics of the political engine rather than sensationalist emotional click bait articles that you see on media websites.

The right side of politics has become to unhinged and divorced from reality, probably a large part fuelled by the SkyNews echo chamber. They have lost the comprehension that in democracy you need compromise, and also the vast majority of the electorate will never accept their unadulterated demands. They prefer the grandstanding on principles/values over practical outcomes, or are so deluded to think that they have the numbers or can persuade people to build the numbers to support their cause. Because of this ideological purism, they will make the Coalition an ungovernable force until their ideology is defeated or becomes obsolete i.e. until the renewables transition is complete. Honestly the best thing for the ALP would be to moderately drag out the climate transition because it would just keep the right infighting longer and longer 🤣

J
Jesse · January 20, 2026

I tend to agree, One Nation doesn't have the brains or a broad enough potential base to build a governing coalition from. It's not to say you can't get people like Steve Bannon (or Farage) who have the brains to make a MAGA type movement become more organised and gain more traction. But the problem is in Aus there is a ceiling to it. Rural capital interests are not enough, especially if they are in conflict urban capital interests. For now these interests seem irreconcilable for purely ideological almost religious like beliefs about climate (in)action. The other issue is even with the migrant stuff, the Libs struggle with the same issue. In theory, a lot of migrants could support more restrictive or lower immigration. In practice, articulating a nuanced narrative that appeals to them becomes too difficult when you are also trying to appeal to ON type voters. The Libs can't even get the Indian vote and they're the most culturally aligned demographic! They can't seem to win over the ON voters who want less migrants and more values based migration, or the migrants themselves who might be okay with a technocratic focus on numbers (mind you lower immigration in either case pisses off business but they might tolerate it).

Dominated by Murdoch media since 1960s, the politicians of the right have treated all their constituents as idiots. As Murdoch media treats all its audience as idiots. Pauline Hanson is a clown, it would be nice if someone could point out what one nation has done for its constituents? Or for Australia? One nation is a side-show of ridiculous ness that the taxpayers are funding. Integrity is lost on the right. We don’t want the circus . We want good govenors that’s all . It’s not a beauty contest, it’s our lives and families that matter. The more these fascists spew out their diatribe, dumbing down the really important issues while scamming taxpayers, the less people are engaged with what really matters to them.

98 Qld Election Got double digit seats Got wiped out after 1 election

T
Tenderizer17 · January 19, 2026

I think this is a concern. Recently Labor has been able to do well enough in a state that the senate elects 3 ALP, 2 LNP, and 1 GRN. When One Nation is in play that extra seat goes to One Nation. For the 2028 election I think the carryover seats from Labor will get them a majority when combined with the Greens, but if in 2031 One Nation consistently polls above 17% in all states then Labor + the Greens probably won't be able to pass much and we'll be left with the Labor + Coalition bills.

J
Jesse · January 20, 2026

It is a concern unless the vast majority of ON bled votes from the LNP and take the LNP's second seat. But based on the numbers in the VIC senate last election, I think you are right. The final seat was a race between the ALP and ON, with the ALP winning on Legalise Cannabis preferences

Kit Ham · January 19, 2026

Makes me wonder if we should be looking more closely at any new parties with competent people that pop up in the next election looking to take advantage of the drop in libs support

A
Al Goormay · January 19, 2026

I think that if One Nation gets bigger, it’s going to get factionalised like any group in politics. Those factions I have no idea how it would pan out but I’d find it very funny to describe someone to be a One Nation woke lefty.

Live out in nationals heartland and from what I keep hearing the nationals are probably the most worried about one nation as lots of people around here are going stuff the nationals iam going to vote one nation

M
MIEW · January 18, 2026

The people I see supporting One Nation the most are those who solely care about the most polarizing political topics and things that can be perceived as a threat to their freedom . I'll often hear them speaking strongly about gun control, being "welcomed to their own country", gender politics, lowering speed limits "for revenue raising and control", lack of free speech, "too many Indians at the shops" etc... Pretty much all topics that are relatively easy to understand that from certain (often skewed) perspectives can be quite alarming. In the current landscape it'd only be natural for a conservative with such political tunnel vision to see One Nation as the answer.

D
Darien M · January 19, 2026

Im seeing the same thing.. that and a protest vote as somehow Pauline is seperate from and going to change the system to benefit them all by cutting all taxes and banning all immigration.. I work with a phillo guy who's been here around 40 years now and he talks in his Phillo accent about how immigration, the Muslims/Asians/indians and Labor are the only problems with this country

Off the back of someone else’s comment about Advance and the increase in citings with Gina, my concern is if someone like Advance or another right-wing lobby and advertiser gets behind them and gives them a megaphone, they might get some coherent political campaigning and messaging behind them that ends up attracting many of the apathetic only-vote-coz-I-have-to crowd. That said there’s a large chunk of them that have surface-level understanding of Pauline that deters them from voting for One Nation.

Like being king of the shithole, one nation is king of the right wing loons.

G
GHDownUnder · January 18, 2026

I’m not worried. I see One Nation going down a VERY similar path to Reform UK. Sudden massive rise, and then they can’t help but be their natural selves. Even fucking Paul Murray said it best; “One Nation continues to surge in the polls, but the total right wing of the pie has shrunk.”

T
Tyrone · January 18, 2026

The Australian conservatives will be an unpredictable mess, that wont change for a while. Whether Labor can continue albos ethos of stability and consistent positive trajectory onto a lineage of leaders is the real uncertainty.

F
FredBloggs · January 21, 2026

2028 will be so difficult because we'll get 'Alright you've had your run now it's time for the other mob to have a go'. Oppositions don't win elections, governments lose them?

I do worry about certain outer suburbs areas going towards One Nation. I remember door knocking in an area that's relatively close to the city and was certainly not a poor neighbourhood, very quiet honestly, and I had several voters say they were considering One Nation. If they just go for Liberal voters then great but if they go after more traditional Labor voting areas then there may be an issue.

S
Sir Jo · January 18, 2026

Yeah I made a video about them recently, about them voting against same job same pay laws in relation to coalminers and for some reason not even that works with them. I got a whole bunch of comments saying. “ I’m still voting for her”

A
Andrew · January 18, 2026

Where do you post ?

t
timmy3069 · January 18, 2026

One Nation have always been the Liberals megaphone for the views they share but the latter doesn't want to say out loud as it'll poison their electoral chances at elections

D
Dean Lewis · January 18, 2026

It's fascinating watching Advance talk up Labor on the "backflip" on the hate speech legislation as a win. They're getting Greens positions, the dead opposite of the LNP position and making it a... win for the Pauline Hanson type, who, instead of wanting to axe hate speech laws, likely want them to just be able to do the same post September 11 2001 type talk. Even with peek 2001 talk, PHON didn't poll so well, so ... But there was no Advance to make everything seems like a win for the lazy PHON protest view

B
Bryce Stones · January 18, 2026

Video about one nation; starts talking shit about the greens. Why I love this cunt

D
Dean Lewis · January 18, 2026

But it's for the same reason, that said I do think the Australian Democrats are more savvy than implied with their influence in The Australia Institute. That's a kind of "clever" Pauline or The Greens could never muster That think tank does some interesting work also, such as the work on the Murry Darling Basin and hiring a former employee of the scheme
