That time the UK nuked Australia
[Early Access]
Hello Patrons,
We've got another history video for you this week. Did you know the UK tested and dropped nukes on Australia? Maybe you did, but the story is still crazy so join us on this wild ride as we hash out the details.
Our comeback video has been filmed and is currently being edited. We're hoping to get it out within the next two weeks and then we'll be back to posting publicly. There is a LOT going on both in Australia and abroad that we wish we could be covering right now. Rest assured we'll be back in full force very very soon.
We want to thank you all for your support during the time we had to stay away. Without you patrons the riskier work we do just frankly wouldn't be possible logistically.
We can't thank you enough,
The FJ Crew

Fun fact grew up at maralinga. Lived in the "hospital" building with my parents , brother and sister. But was a amazing place to live with as many myths as facts.... but can honestly say I been to every ground zero at site.
Fun fact one of the two nukes dropped was an H bomb by accident. And the research to make the H bomb was really just trying to figure out how we made it in the first place. Oh and get this. one of the ways to show off how safe the nukes where to the worried pilots and how they would only go off after amed. the engineers beat the fuck out of it with hammers.
Great video. Absolutely. Nuclear fallout isn't a small thing. Best avoided. They use a LOT of water in cooling, and it has to be fresh water. It's said to be safe, but... seriously? Accidents do happen, and risk analysis of nuclear with other options so much less damaging, makes nuclear a ridiculous proposition.
I can already see the chud response "OMG FRIENDLYJORDIES THINKS NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS ARE NUCLEAR BOMBS. HE PROBABLY THINKS WOMENS WEEKLY GOES IN GUNS". completely missing the well articulated reason why the nuclear bombs are discussed and relevant.
I remember reading an autobiography (YAMI) in highschool written by an Aboriginal man who was exposed to the fallout from one of these tests. A truly disgusting technology.
thanks love an australian history lesson

So...is this what the boomers called the good old days???
Love you
This is wild because my granddad was apart of the few RAF members who where test subjects to some of these nukes

"Did this article just prank call me?" Absolutely sent me 😂😂😂 I will be using that and will not be giving you credit for it 😂😂
Thank you for doing this. It’s horrific. And they were bringing into Australia heaps of immigrants from war torn Europe at the time.
IIRC there's a massive, massive different between setting off a nuclear bomb and dumping a barrel of nuclear waste in the ocean. Nuclear is the safest form of power. Sure, maybe we're undercounting the death toll of Chernobyl but in the first place that was a very weird reactor that was being used to generate nuclear weapons material in addition to power.
yeah but renewables are just better and cheaper in every way
Seems crazy that Jordan is on the red thread but not his own stuff really.
The answer I think, is that red thread isn't as red hot (see what I did there aye aye aye) as the friendly jimmies brand is currently, his last public video was him telling the police to lift their game and arrest someone and they keep talking on the pod about his big return so we will see in a couple weeks whats been going on, but I agree it feels like betrayal 😅
I lived near a couple of Marralinga families that had been relocated to Esperence. About 1970. The older kids (12+) were ok but all the kids younger than that had deformities and disabilities.
Love it mate, great topic. The knowledge clearly existed that a leadlined suit would be more beneficial than leather or canvas and the poor folks that lived in the area. I can't even begin to describe the anguish I feel. Thank you.
Some tribes of Aboriginal were uncontacted. Welcome to the 20th here's a nuclear bomb
Ah the good old days I miss cracker night...
To be fair we did ask for it
