Patch Notes - June 5, 2026
Yo, big update this week! First thing is Cranked is out of pre-alpha and into Alpha. Woohoo!
New Stuff
Proximity Voice Chat
- Hear nearby riders as you pass them — voices fade in and out with distance
- New player list with a mute button for every rider
- Mic icon on the HUD so you always know when you're transmitting (there is a known issue that the mic icon won't show up for some players. It will be fixed in the next update.)
- Voice chat settings added to the audio menu
New Trails (with racing)
- Hippie Trail — black
- Coward — blue
New Audio Engine (FMOD)
- We've replaced the old audio system with FMOD to make way for brand-new custom mountain bike SFX from Paulie, our sound designer. Heads up: you'll notice some regressions in the current sounds for now — we'll be swapping in Paulie's new SFX over the coming months.
In-Air Rotation Assist
- New setting with three modes — Full, Lean Only, and Off. Pick how much the game helps you rotate while you're in the air.
- Used to be a simple on/off — the old "off" is now "Lean Only," and the new "Off" turns air rotation assist off completely.
Camera Options (experimental)
- New third person camera option. Cycle through with the normal camera button. We'd love to have feedback on this new third person camera.
- Tweaked the "lock camera to bike" setting, so try turning this off and see if you like the new version.
Improvements
- Leaderboards scroll faster, and the challenge menu now remembers your scroll position
- Tap respawn again within 2 seconds to undo it
- D-pad down during a race now acts as a restart button
- Removed some gates on Rock Merch so you can skip the hip
- Bikes get better-lit materials and sharper textures
- Better rendering support on Mac
- Increased the drone camera clipping plane to be the same as the first person clipping plane
Bug Fixes
- Fixed ragdoll spawning with the new rider rig
- Mod map menu now scrolls with a controller
Modding
- Mod maps can now have full races — drop in custom race markers and gates
- Mod race times now upload to the leaderboards
- Trail exporter tool
- Multi-platform mod export tool
- Track tape tool
- Root tool
- Built-in map generator for mod minimaps
- Fixed the skybox not showing when a mod map loads
