The penultimate episode starts as Peem teases Lené for not being able to resolve her tiff with Rann, and him trying to get Rann to forgive her to no avail. He argues that Lené is a pitiful kitten by this point, but Rann doesn’t even want to look at her and attacks Peem for trying. He tells his boss what goes around, comes around, and that she brought it on herself. But alone in the bathroom, Rann argues about the files she retrieved from Kanin’s computer, and tells herself that she still has to give them to Lené whether she’s mad or not. She scolds herself for acting like a child, and tells herself to keep it professional. But coming out of the company restroom, she is requested to meet Kanin again. After the credits, she is sitting in front of him, he is asking her if she wants to tell him something, and Rann denies it. He then asks her about sneaking into his office while he was absent, and Rann first denies it, then remembers looking for her earrings, but claims she was asking his secretary for permission who was present the whole time. His secretary then confirms Rann’s report, but with a major difference: Rann was unsupervised while the secretary was dealing with a co-worker outside, and she saw her getting up from behind her desk as she returned. Rann confirms the report by his secretary, and claims she was looking for her earrings, claiming that she looked everywhere else before requesting to get into his office. She claims the earring were a keepsake from her grandmother and mean the world to her. Kanin understands – and Rann Wants to leave, but Kanin has one more question: why was she looking behind his desk when she never went there in the first place? He repeats to ask her if she has something to tell her. At this point, Lené comes in and gabs Rann, claiming that she is her person, and tells her father to talk to her directly if he has a problem instead of summoning her like this. He claims the he was the one who hired Rann, but Lené claims she is still her person either way, from the very start. Kanin reminds her that he taught her never to have a weakness, but Lené claims her mother told her that no one is without weakness, and it’s a matter of whether one can protect it. He reminds her that her mother is dead. But Lené leaves the office with Rann anyway, as he tells her daughter to protect that weakness well. He tells his henchman afterwards to dig up everything on Rann’s background, and to have someone check his computer for anything suspicious. Lené is very upset as they return to her office, and Rann touches her arm to calm her down as she claims that she’s fine and her father did nothing to her, and she didn’t report anything beyond what they agreed on earlier. But Lené isn’t worried about that, she’s just furious for what her did to her. And he even dared to bring up her mother when… Lené is close to crying at this point. And just kisses Lené to calm her down, and reminds her that she’s fine. She knows, but she’s just scared of what he might do to her, scared of losing Rann again when they are still fighting. Rann hugs Lené and tells she’s here now. Sitting down on her couch, she tells her it’s a good thing that Lené rescued her just in time, and Lené claims this was exactly why she didn’t want to drag her into this, and apologizes – with Rann asking for which day – today, yesterday or the day that she graduated? Lené figured that she already knew, but Rann doesn’t and argues that unless she tells her, everything is just a guess. Lené tells her about her mother who was a kind person with a beautiful smile, she claims, someone who loved volunteering and was brave enough to help children in war zones, and laments that she was shot dead by terrorists in a refugee camp. Her father claimed she was just unlucky, but she didn’t believe him and tried to find out the truth, and finally found out that their supposedly clean family business in fact was incredibly dirty. She tells Rann that her father smuggles everything – both goods and people. The moment her mother found out, she did everything to stop him – but that’s why she was killed. She was lucky to meet Peem as she was completely lost, whom her mother saved when he was a child, and claims he was the only one trying to find out the truth about her death, and she claims she will never forgive her father for taking away the person she loves the most, and she vows to make him pay for it. Rann grabs her face as Lené admits that she never wanted to push her away, but she was so scared to have something happen to her if her father wanted to get rid of her as well. But Rann shushes Lené and asks her to kiss her right now, and Lené complies. But Rann claims she still hasn’t forgiven her for the day before, and Lené apologizes for being jealous, Rann claiming she thought she was on her period as she went ballistic, but Lené wants her to forgive this hormonal mess, but Rann wants her to promise her that she’ll never push her away again. Lené promises it as she places a few kisses on Rann, and vows to protect her. She wants to know if they are done talking as she pushes Rann down onto the couch. Rann claims they are it the office, and Lené confirms it, and calls her “darling.” But then, Peem comes in thinking they were done making up, but claims to looks like she’s moving an to “phase 2” 😉 Lené wants to know if he still wants to keep his job, but that’s why he’s here, he claims, and wants to know if they are bringing Rann along. Lené tells Rann that there’s something she wants her to see. And they go to the HQ Lené is running for bringing Kanin to justice in an abandoned building somewhere. Lené calls it her weapon and claims she doesn’t work with Peem alone – everyone (about a dozen people) here works for her. Ran want to know how long she has been running this, and Lené claims she ran this operation since she joined the company, so for six years – a long time, but nothing compare to Kanin’s 30-year reign, she argues. Peem tells Rann that Kanin has the nose of a bloodhound, their last base was completely destroyed, and they had to relocate three times already, and claims luckily Lené saw it coming last time. Lené wants to introduce her to everyone, but Rann first has something to show her as well. And she give her a flash drive with data she got from Kanin’s computer, but she argues, almost all of that data is actually leverage that Kanin uses against others. Lené wants to know where she got this data, and Rann doesn’t want her to get mad. Lené tells her “Out with it, you little rascal” as she pulls her closer. Rann isn’t a rascal, she claims, and Lené calls her “darling” again, but still wants to know. She then reports that she sneaked into Kanin’s office and used a little trick to copy the files from his computer, and goes on about her friend Gen who is a “hacker” – but Lené never wants her to do this again. Rann doesn’t make any promises, but she’ll tell her beforehand, she claims. Rann then thanks her for telling her, and to herself thanks her for trusting her again. And Lené thanks Rann for going this fair for her. She wants to kiss her right now, she argues, but they still have work to do and she needs to introduce her to someone… …which is Dean who tries to hug Rann as they arrive, but Lené blocks him. 😊 He calls him her close friend and the mole for this operation. Lené and Dean try to acquire enough shares of the company to oust Kanin. And we get a montage of Peem, Dean, Lené and Rann working towards this goal. It is late at night, Lené and Peem are still sifting through documents as Rann has fallen asleep in Lené’s lap. Peem feels the he is intruding and goes to fetch some coffee. The next day, she gets a signature from Saran, who claims to want to retire anyway. Lené promises him he won’t get into trouble of regret his choice and assures him she can handle her father. Rann later wants to know if she thinks this will be enough to stop her father and to herself wonders whether it will be enough to prevent her death, as she thinks the one who is trying to kill her will be her father. Lené doesn’t know for sure, but at the very least she wants to strip him of as much power as she can, and she knows that his reach extends far beyond this company. And she’s well aware that this fight won’t end easily, not until either Kanin or Lené are dead. She asks Rann if she still wants to help her, and Rann takes her hand and asks them to make a quick stop before going home. And they go to the bridge where Rann kissed Lené after graduation, and Lené apologizes for what she said back then and for driving her away, claiming that she never wanted to hurt her – but Rann shushes her, claiming she has apologized enough, and she want to apologize as well, for running away without asking her anything, and just jumping to conclusions. But they are back standing there again, she argues, just like before. Lené thanks her for coming back, and she gets emotional as she thanks her for being by her side again and Rann claims that she’s back as the tears are falling and they are hugging each other. And Rann promises to herself that she will always choose this path and will do whatever it takes to be by her side again just as long as she’s there. Later at home, this turns into a makeout session as they are all over each other, and undress each other, and rip their stocking for about five minutes. Saran comes to Kanin telling him that just met his daughter. Lené and Rann are lying in bed together in the afterglow, and are both happy. Each one claims to be happier than the other, and arguing they don’t know what each other has been through. Lené claims that Rann is her entire world as Rann told her vice versa, and claims that her world fell apart when she left. There’s something that Rann wants to tell her, and Lené has something, too. So they argue a bit about who goes first, but in the end Lené starts by telling her she loves her. Rann is momentarily startled, but Lené just repeats it. Rann just replies by “Me, too,” but Lené wants to hear the words, so Rann tells her she loves her as well, and she always has for all this time. This triggers some flashbacks to their previous moments, as Rann agues to herself that whether in this life or the last, she has always loved her. Lené then tells her they can look for a new house together af she doesn’t like this house, and also for a new car that she’ll use to take her everywhere. Rann is astonished that she still remembers, but Lené claims she remembers everything about her and wants her to be her family and to come live with her. Rann is close to tears, but Lené wants her to be very happy. And she repeat the line “I hope you are always happy” she put onto flower bouquets. In the morning, Lené wakes up first, and she finds Rann’s necklace lying in bed between them, she opens it to find the red thread in it, but gets called on the phone and leaves the necklace open on the bed counter. Later, she goes to the office alone and Peem asks her where her wife, um, her secretary is. Lené claims she is resting at home, and Peem teases her that she seemed perfectly fine the day before, but Lené wants to know if he wants the details, and Peem fears that asking more would be a death wish. Lené praises him for being able to read the room, and Peem praises her for her improved sense of humor since she got a “wife”. Then, he gets more serious as he knows that she wants to get over with it as soon as possible, but fears they are moving too fast. He’s worried that her father might catch on, but Lené wants everything taken care of as soon as possible – at least, she needs to make sure that Rann is safe while she’s with her, because she doesn’t ever want to send her away again. And she’s scared that something might happen to Rann just like it happened to her mother. Peem jokes that since she put it that way, what choice does as mere servant like him have? They’ll take it one problem at a time, starting with taking down her father. Lené remarks that Peem is not a servant, he’s like a big brother to her. Peem adds that she should know that this brother is more than willing to help his little sister, then. Lené asks how the matter she asked him to handle is coming along, and Peem argues so much for the touching moment, and back to work it is before he leaves her. She then make a call. Rann is at the funeral again, claiming that this isn’t no, can’t be real, arguing there are still months left and wondering why this is happening. She wakes up crying for Lené, realizes it was just a nightmare, and gets dressed. But she finds Lené nowhere and asks the maid. The maid tells her that Lené wanted to let her rest, so she went to the office alone, but she left a bouquet for her with a note: “For the one who makes my world brighter.” Rann wants to go to the office because there is something she needs to tell Lené, and the maid promises to get a driver right away. Lené is happy at the office looking at a single flower while Rann is waiting outside the home for her driver, arguing she has to tell Lené everything, what is going to happen to her and the fact that she turned back in time. But she gets a gun pointed at her by a guy telling her to keep quiet if she wants to stay alive. And she recognizes the voice; it’s the man who slit her throat in the other timeline. He tells her the boss wants to see her and abducts her. Lené gets a call from the maid telling her that Rann has suddenly disappeared. And that’s where the episode ends, save for a coda, showing how Rann made clear soup for Lené because she is working so hard. As Lené was driving her everywhere she wants, she would cook for her all her favorite dishes. Now, that they are living under the same roof – they feel like a married couple, Lené completes Rann’s sentence, and asks her if she can or something (or someone 😊) else, but Rann wants her to stay romantic instead of teasing her, then tells her that it’s not like she ever said no, and tells her to go ahead and eat. The scene ends with Lené hugging Rann and claiming she gets bold. ____ Now, everything is set for the finale, almost all secrets are out in the open, and Kanin has already fired the first salve in this showdown. This is going to get action-packed next week, and I’m looking forward to it. This week, Lené and Rann confessed their love to each other and reconciled, as if that was ever in doubt, and Lené also told Rann that she pushed her away initially to protect her from the same trouble she got into five years later. It is clear that they both care for each other more than for themselves, and I guess this will show in the showdown as well. This was a good penultimate episode with a spicy love scene that is probably cut out of the YouTube version again. 😊
