lmao do it. That's awesome. I even said it the right way.
Great video! I was really struggling with the "dellow felegates" joke/reference/easter egg, and then I found out that is just how he says it:).
Lol yeah one of Jar Jar's most memorable lines of dialogue
I wish I remembered the writer who introduced me to the idea that obvious evil in fiction is doing us a disservice, in that: if we think that evil is easy to recognize (as in the Emperor, whose appearance continues the "evil is ugly/deformed" trope that's been popular for millenia) we aren't on guard against it in more subtle forms (as in Palpatine.) To the extent that fiction can be part of an education about the world, this gives us the wrong tools, or perhaps not-very-effective tools, to evaluate it. This isn't the Banality of Evil idea, although related -- but (as far as I can tell) evil people in the real world don't think that they are evil. They think they are behaving ethically, for the good of everyone, or for a greater good that isn't obvious to everyone.
Interesting reflection. Makes me wonder about the word "evil" - does it necessarily only refer to the most cartoonish and extreme versions of "bad", or does evil shade into lesser degrees of immorality?
