The most sparkly dress I have ever sewn... (DRAFT)
At the end of July I set myself a goal: get this dress photographed and the video about it posted before the end of August.
I did...one of those things.
I tried REALLY hard to get this photographed. I waited for the singular day we had where the temperature was below 85 degrees. I ironed it. I styled the wig. I made a hat. I painted the shoes. I was prepared.
The morning came.
I WAS STUNG BY A DOZEN WAPS.
Look this may come as a surprise, but if you hit a yellowjacket nest with a tennis ball DO NOT attempt to retrieve the tennis ball. This will anger them. They will swarm. You will be feverish and itchy for an entire week afterward. You will not be in the mood to photograph a pretty dress.
I am unfortunately speaking from experience here.
So because I have no worn photos, this video is missing photos of the completed project as well as an outro. But the making of footage is all there and narrated for your viewing pleasure. A final version of this will hopefully be up soon but I don't know when, so I thought I would offer early access to the draft copy.
Here are some photos of it on my dress form:
Despite my inability to get worn photos, I do REALLY REALLY love this dress. I think it is beautiful and I couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out and how the materials worked together. Which is good, because it was a lot of work.
And speaking of work, I need to get back to it! My two patreon exclusive videos will be out tomorrow (sorry for the delay)!

It is so beautiful ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ 😻😻😻❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful!
This is so fabulous!!! My little girl will lose her mind when I show her! ☺️ Your commitment to en-sparkling everything is inspiring! I LOVE Irregular Choice shoes, so much, I have a huge love list on the site... But I have a super disfigured foot that I couldn't fit into any of their beautiful shoes!😭😭😭 Hopefully one day! Hope you went okay with the wasp stings, that's awful!
This is sooo pretty
1. It WAS worth it. 2. I hope you get worn photos some day, with the shoes. It is so, so pretty!
I find watching your videos so inspiring. You're so creative with your embellishments - it would never occur to me this kind of thing! You create so many unique and beautiful garments, I always feel reinvigorated and excited for my own sewing after watching your videos.
Hope you are doing well. You are so talented (in many ways) and so engaging!
This is a so beyond stunning, your presence in the actual dress might be overwhelmingly gorgeous and blinding, so it's totally okay there's no worn photos. And JEEEZ, i hope you feel better!! Wasps are evil little buggers🥺
Oh no you poor duck!! I hope you feel better soon / are already feeling better! Beautiful dress 😍
Part of the process may have been hours of misery but it was so worth it! This is amazing and so sparkly! Wasps are dicks if you tennis ball them or not... I hope you heal up quick
I feel like that could be a hashtag for your life - #fillinthegapwithsequins. 😂 Gorgeous!!!
Oh, oh no. Wasps are such assholes. </3
It’s so beautiful!! It’s a modern take on your 1860’s pink gown (the video where I became mesmerized by your work). I’m so glad you posted this.
