Sewing & Reviewing Vogue V2902!

Do you ever start on a simple project with every intention of finishing it in a weekend?

And then instead of finishing it, you just don't touch it for 5 months?

I hope the answer is yes so I am not alone here, lol! That is the story with these dresses. I thought they would go together so quickly and easily, and they should have! I just procrastinated finishing them like crazy.

But I GOT IT DONE. And PHOTOGRAPHED. And EDITED. All of which are huge accomplishments given my current capabilities!

I hope you enjoy this video and that my thoughts on this pattern are helpful! :D

I am currently looking at a dress that has been pretty much done for months, and only needs the facing and buttons. And I love the dress. I don't know what's keeping me. Plot twist: It was a 3 hour pattern from McCalls.

5 months? Hahahaha, I had a dress I almost didn't touch for over two years. So yes, totally do that too. Looks very sweet btw :-)

Yes, I absolutely do that. More than I care to admit ;)

Oh yes ... For me COVID hit me like a truck when I was working on my simple dress for the graduation party of my school. Yep, so ... I lost all the motivation to work on it. Still haven't finished it, because when I picked it up again and had sewn the skirt to the bodice, putting it on revealed I forgot to add seamallowence in the center back when I altered the pattern ... Yes, there's that. I feel you.

The dresses are very becoming on you and I don’t think the hem hit you at the wrong place on your legs. Good work!

Yes I do start projects and then leave them for AGES!!! I still haven't finished the Renaissance Rapunzel inspired gown I'm making for my daughter. In fact she's grown so much I basically have to start over! Pantry moths are so annoying! What finally made a difference for us was getting a fantastic vacuum and going over the carpets again and again and then sprinkling eucalyptus oil in all of them! Also if you see anything suspect in your yarn or fabric, 48 hours in the freezer will kill it!

"Do you ever start on a simple project with every intention of finishing it in a weekend? And then instead of finishing it, you just don't touch it for 5 months?" I have ADHD so this is kind of my life XD

I have this pattern and yes, I have a larger bust (I'm a D/DD) and had to drastically change the bust portion, which then had to change the facings. But it was an easy pattern to use and only took a little bit to make the modifications. I love the contrasting colors you used.

Super cute! I have a bunch of stuff cut out from last year…I lost like 3” pretty much all over. I’m slowing working my way through as well as adding new projects in between.

I still have a few projects that are cut out waiting on my other table. I have no idea from how long ago. Maybe even a year? Oof
