Updated plugin

I updated the AssettoServer replay plugin with some new options:

  • You can now set the replay file name in the settings file

  • Added a way to easily setup a train, just set "AutoStartOffset" to a value greater than zero, this will be the number of replay frames between each car.

  • Added a fix for online recorded replays were the car's velocity is usually wrong causing car shaking or generally strange behaviour, you can enable it with the "RecalcVelocities" flag.

You'll find it in the pinned post, I included a Linux build but I don't have a test server anymore so I couldn't test it. (My daily driver is now Linux but I can't use the same machine both as a Linux server and a Windows client to test AC and, honestly, couldn't be bothered to setup a VM).

One more question Can I specify the path to the replay file? Instead of ReplayFile: replay.acreplay For example, like this: ReplayFile: content/tracks/mytrack/replay.acreplay

In the latest version you can set the replay file name in the settings file, it should work with a path too (relative to AS root) but I haven't tested it, try both with and without an initial backslash in the path: content/... or /content/...

Am I correct in understanding that this works as a plugin for AssettoServer? So, can I take an Assetto server and put the VSReplayPlugin folder in it? And second question, you wrote in other posts that AssettoServer is working on the same plugin, but I couldn't find it on their website. Can you share any information?

Unluckily no, you need a specially built version of AS, it's just a line of code but it's needed to force the cars position update. You can find it in the pinned post.

UPDATE (14/12/2025): after a report from @optikal I tried at least to run it, should work now.
