Drift bots server plugin

This is a full working folder for a server with drift bots, the plugin has been ready for almost a month but I wasn't sure about publishing it for many reasons. A few days ago I discovered that AS guys are working on the same thing so I'll probably stop developing it, until AS version is ready you can use this, if you want.

Unzip the folder and launch AssettoServer.exe.

To change track and cars you'll need to update the "content" folder and the replay.acreplay file.

I tried converting my friend's replay into a drift bot. It worked perfectly the first time, but when I switched to a different track, one car kept getting stuck at the intersection. I tested it with different versions, but the issue still persists.Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Just one car or every drift bots? Just one would be very peculiar. The replay plugin is very basic, just a loop sending cars position to the server, please make sure the loop lap or the "LoopStart" and "LoopEnd" are set correctly in the configuration file. "LoopStart" and "LoopEnd" must be set to the frame number, you can see that in VS, lower left corner, the number between parenthesis right of the replay time.

I’ve got it all set up now and 33hz seems to be fine for me and I’m assuming to change replay car would be done through VS?

You can change the bots cars by editing the entry list file in the cfg folder, the net code is car agnostic, still you could get unrealistic wheels angle and RPMs if you mix the wrong cars.

My plugin can only work with the custom AssettoServer version attached to the pinned post, unless AssettoHosting.com lets you upload that on your server you won't be able to set it up.

Drift bots server works great with the provided replay. I am able to host servers using the replay with other custom cars. My only issue is that I am trying to use the plugin on different tracks using my own replays and I can't figure out how to get it to work. Either way, great work you've been doing.

For a custom server the steps usually are: - Set the server for the specific track, like you would for a normal server. - Record a replay. - Copy the replay file in the server folder and rename it to "replay.acreplay". - Set the parameters in the "cfg\plugin_vs_replay_cfg.yml" file. - You can set a loop lap with the "LoopLap" parameter, but keep in mind then some track do not actually record laps correctly, you can check that in VS. - Or you can set a loop with the "LoopStart" and "LoopEnd" parameters, those must be set to the frame number, you can check that in the bottom-left corner in VS, the number between parentheses. - Set the parameter "AutoStart" to a number grater than 0 to make sure at least one car will automatically start with the server. Are you having problems in one of these steps or is it something else?

I figured out how to make public servers, but the bots are a little shaknes, I use replay 67 hz and in server.сfg set 67 hz, mb it can be even smoother?

V

I suggest trying with lower frequencies both for the replay and the server. For servers 20 hz are usually more than enough for a smooth experience, for my tests I set them at 18hz and had no shakiness problem.

Hi, is it possible to make the server public for example so that my friends can join the server and drift it, if for this you need to buy a subscription, I'm ready!

To make the server public you have to set the port forwarding on your router and send the IP address to your friends or enable the registration on Kunos lobby. Port forwarding instructions are different for each router model so I can't help in that regard and it must also be allowed by your ISP.

Im trying to set this up so a mate can drift with me and bots but he can't seem to find the server when its live, is there a setting I need to edit in the serverconfig?

V
Virtual Steward · February 27, 2025

You need to edit the server settings file and change lobby register to 1. Keep in mind that if you are hosting locally on your PC you'll have to enable the port forwarding on your router.

Sorry, I originally published it just for paid members by mistake, it's Patreon default setting.
