I love when others appreciate Yunho's voice :( I love his tone so much
Thank you so much for reacting to TVXQ! I absolutely loved watching your reaction, it made me so happy!! Please, please keep exploring TVXQ and making more reaction videos about them, especially their live performances, both as five members and as a duo. Their live stages are truly something special, and their solo projects are amazing too—I think you'll really enjoy discovering more of their music and performances. I'll definitely keep supporting your channel and look forward to your future videos. Thank you again!
And you only heard two of them—imagine what all five of the star vocalists of that era sounded like together. I hope that one day you'll react to all five of them performing together.
i feel like you willlike sechskies (kpop's 1st gen idol) one of the two most famous 1st gen (asides from h.o.t)
These guys are the reason why there is a 7-year maximum limit on idol contracts now. Max and Yunho were 15 and 17 when they debuted, so the 20 yr debut anniversary isn't too unbelievable (almost 23 now) I find it admirable that they perform the older groups songs as a duo and do such an amazing job at it. They were a group of 5 less time than they've been a duo, 7 years vs 15 years, but in those first 7 years they released what seems to be about 40% of their discography. I loved how in Kingdom all the groups said they were Cassiopeia. These guys really deserve all the praise and the accolades. I have to admit, I mostly only know Mirotic, because of that one performance at Gayo Daejeon with Woodz, Skz Hyunjin, Astro's Moonbin, SF9's Taeyang and The Boyz Juyeon https://youtu.be/MWntYcZRoAM?is=i-qVB3itEfowHKV6
This is one of my favourite Killing Voices, they're so good. Love to see you getting more into SM artists, they have some of the best vocalists in the kpop industry. I know you've mostly reacted to groups like SKZ and BTS but those are more rap and performance focused and have pretty weak vocalists compared to SM groups (and I say this as someone who loves SKZ and BTS). Most SM groups have more complex vocal parts, less rap (and when they rap it's nowhere near the level of rap focused groups) and more harmonies.
Thank you so much for this reaction! I genuinely enjoyed both your analysis and your honest reactions throughout the video. I actually subscribed to your Patreon specifically because I saw you were reacting to TVXQ, and it was absolutely worth it. I really hope you'll continue exploring TVXQ's discography—they have so many amazing songs from both their five-member era and as a duo. I'd also love to see you react to Yunho's and Changmin's solo music someday. Thank you again for giving them such thoughtful attention!
I joined Patreon to watch this! I've seen their Killing Voice and reactions to it way more times than what's healthy but yours is one of my favorites. Thank you for breaking down their techniques! TVXQ members have always been known as some of K-Pop's best vocalists but it's great to hear the specifics. They are the first K-Pop group I fell in love with 17 years ago and there is no other... They set the bar so high. Looking forward to your review of more TVXQ performances.
LOVE THEM SO MUCH❤️
Mirotic is such a popular song. Mainly because of the incredible fan chant that happens in this song. Even in auditions this song is sang a lot and everybody still does the fan chant.
Wow! I didn’t realize this was coming. TVXQ are incredible technical singers. I always find that even if I don’t like or interested in the sound of their songs, I’m still kept very entertained and deeply impressed by their vocal tones and technique. Though most of the time, I DO enjoy their music! Happy you checked them out. Mirotic is definitely a favorite of mine and pretty much the entire kpop industry. It’s iconic!!!
Honestly, I like Changmin and Yunho, but the other three ex-members of TVXQ are something else. Xia is my bias, and his voice deserves a whole essay I swear hahah. Also, yes, Catch Me is A LOT more dubstep in the full song lol
I respect your opinion, and I think it's perfectly okay to have a favorite lineup or member. I just wish people would appreciate Yunho and Changmin without immediately comparing them to the former members. All five members are incredibly talented, and I've never understood why people act as if Yunho and Changmin are somehow less talented. Talent has never been what separated them. TVXQ was built around five exceptional artists from the very beginning—five of SM's most exceptional trainees. Yunho and Changmin have always been artists of the same caliber as the former members. Since 2010, they've carried TVXQ as a duo and built a remarkable legacy through their live performances, vocal ability, stage presence, and dedication. I think this Killing Voice performance is a wonderful reminder of everything they've accomplished.
Yesss.. I’ve been waiting for this Killing Voice since you’ve started watching Kingdom Legendary War. These two never disappoint with their vocals. I love Changmin’s solo work too!
I subscribed to your Patreon for this one! Thank you so much for reacting to TVXQ. They really are kpop royalty :)
I really like this Killing Voice because of the A+ vocals and because you can get a nice little snippet into the evolution of kpop over the years
Been waiting for this one, so excited! Thanks for reacting!
My favorite two people in the whole of KPOP. These are the presenters of Kingdom, I don't know if you remember them from there. You watched several episodes, and these are the presenters of the show, at least the season you were in. And I feel like this only shows a little bit, I think I'll recommend the collab between Super Junior and Changmin from TVXQ, it's a crazy one! Thank you so much for this, I enjoyed the whole thing with a smile, I loved it! Thank you! Lupe.- EDIT: I just watched again, how do I like it twice? ;)
Yoo Young Jin was one of SM's main producers from 1996 to 2023 (he has credits for 11/20 songs from TVXQ's Killing Voice). SMP - SM Music Performance is a type of sound startedhe by YYJ in SM. Characteristic elements: Gregorian choir, many high notes in one song, intense dance breaks, Symphonic Rock elements, songs that sound like 3 songs in one, Call and response, had a social commentary. H.O.T. and TVXQ had the most title tracks that are SMP. Rising Sun is such a representative SMP song, that's why you had it about social commentary in those notes EXO - MAMA is also included in these songs. In the 1990s/early 2000s, South Korea was experiencing an economic crisis, and YYJ at that time like to include social criticism in its lyrics (there is a song H.O.T. - I yah! which is about kindergardens who died in the fire). YYJ also has a very characteristic singing style. He was previously an R&B singer before becoming a producer. The riffing, vibrato and growl you mentioned are the characteristic elements of YYJ's singing. There are 3 idols from SM, who were also his students and share his singing style: Changmin from TVXQ, Winter from aespa, and D.O. from EXO. Other SM idols have admitted that they enjoy imitating YYJ. You could hear this in SNSD's "I GOT A BOY," for example, when Tiffany imitated his singing style while wearing orange wigs in the music video. I think we have to give Yoo Young Jin x D.O. - Tell Me (What Is Love) in the reaction requests.
