BTS 2 Song Study: 'Outro: Tear' (live) & 'Film Out' (live) Reaction

Outro: Tear will always be one of my favourites, it's so good. The emotion and passion in that performance is so palpable, they really put their whole hearts & souls in it 😭

Hey Tim, thank you for the reaction! In my opinion, I don't think there is another K-pop group that expresses their thoughts, feelings, and doubts in their music as much as BTS. I do think it is why their music touches so many people, as there is such a range in their discography. It's been great to see them do this world tour at a slower pace and see them enjoy the countries they are touring in!

During 2017-18 you could really see the emotional and physical toll. Some of the members got into major arguments, Jimin put himself on an absolutely hellish “diet”, and everyone was just stressed out of their minds as their popularity rose so rapidly they quickly hit uncharted waters. No other group achieved that level of popularity, at least not on the global stage, so there was no blueprint to follow for what to do. They did manage to work everything out and renegotiated their contracts. I feel like as hard as it was, it helped them become even more focused. And they went into the Love Yourself albums which all carried the message of self love and acceptance

About the military, they were planning to go earlier, but Covid changed their plans. There’s a lot about the military with BTS that I will let others touch on, but they did go when they were older: Jin & SUGA 30, RM & j-hope 29, Jimin 28, V 27 & JK 26. But I think their military enlistment staggering was so well planned.

The disbandment talks were about their exhaustion - mental & physical. They had tremendous global success and they were going non-stop (& had been since teens) with a lot of pressure.
