Stray Kids - 'Hollow' / THE FIRST TAKE Quick Take

I think I'll need to do a deeper dive on this one, such a different sound than some of their other songs. Really great! Nice horizontal mixing from several of the guys in this one.

This album is very high quality and has a lot of great songs. I’d definitely recommend checking it out; it’s not that many tracks but all of them are super different it’s crazy. “Just a little” is more calm and they did a live vocal version in YT of it “Never alone” sounds like a fantasy story, it’s good “Parade” is a banger and used as a horror movie OST. But honestly not just “Hollow” as album , in all of their Japanese albums it feels like 3racha put as much effort as in their official promoted music in Korean , if you ever want to any of them out, all of them are good

Japanese releases just hit different!! Hollow is one of my favorite songs, I'm so glad you reacted to it and I'm excited to see if you gonna do a deeper analysis of the song. A lot of Stray Kids members are huge anime fans and they even did a few anime openings and endings if you want to check those out: Slump (it's so underrated but I love it, it also has a One Take version like this one), TOP, NIGHT and Falling up. I strongly recommend to check out Social Path (ft Lisa), it has Korean and Japanese version you could listen any version you'd like but I personally love MV and it's in japanese so. Here are some of their other japanese releases from the too of my head I want to recommend: WHY, Sound, Giant, Scars (there's also One Take version btw), Battle Ground and All-in. Han's solo song Hold my hand also kinda has in my opinion a little bit of j-pop vibe in it although it's in Korean. Since I mentioned anime openings and endings they did, I have to recommend SLASH which was originally written for Deadpool and Wolverine movie but I don't think song made It into the movie after all. But the theme of the song is Deadpool and Wolverine so the song has a very interesting sound and vibe so I think you'll enjoy listening to it. Talking about interesting vibe I'd like to mention their song Wolfgang, I personally really like it, I think this song it so good for performances. Circus would be another great listen and fun to break down. And I'd like to see your deeper analysis of the song S-Class, and I know you've heard it reacting to concert and Killing Voice, but it has a very unique structure and MV is pretty fun. You've heard a little bit of their first ever song Hellevator, but maybe you'd like to hear the full version? It their pre-debut song and I love it. I don't think you've heard their debut song Districts 9? Would be fun to see where they started. I know I've already recommended a lot, but their duo songs from Mixtape domiAte are so good! You've heard Cinema by Seungmin and Lee Know, you gotta check out Escape by Bang Chan and Hyunjin, it kinda connected to their song Red Lights (which was your first song ever from Stray Kids now that I think about it) but most importantly their vocals are so good. Burnin' Tires by Changbin and I.N. would be fun to break down as well. And there's Truman by Han and Felix.

seconded all of your recommendations so hard! I can't even point one out cos then i'd want to mentio them all again lol. Abt slash i think i saw someone say it's in one scene but basically not audible just if you öiste really closely it sounds a little bit like felix part in the background :( i was so sad abt it back then cos i went to watch it maily for the song

I'm so late to this one, but it was a nice surprise :) It took me a little while to decide that I liked Hollow because it's so much lighter than a lot of the stuff I really like Stray Kids for, but I came around :) The First Take is nice, you can really hear their lovely voices.

This one was a nice pick! The concert setlist had a lot of their high energy tracks so Hollow is a nice contrast

Its so funny to me how they allways have a bit of a chaotic vibe before they start singing 😂😂

Thanks for taking my rec🫶🏻 I love Hollow and I thought this had some nice vocal moments. That Album also has one of my favorite B-sides with 'Parade', might have to put that into the recs for February 😆

I love that you got to hear Changbin singing😄 I honestly think the community here is giving you really good recommandations bc you get to see alot of diffrent sides of skz instead of just looking at the couple biggest songs! (Im ofc also still excited for the big songs aswell, I hope Thunderous is still on the list😆)

Hollow is a japanese release, so that’s probably why it gives you j-pop vibes :)

“Hollow” is such a standout—especially as a Japanese release. The First Take performance really highlights the raw emotion and control in the song. I love how HAN and Changbin, who we usually associate with hard-hitting rap, are front and center singing here—it shows an entirely different depth to their artistry. If you enjoyed this side of them, I highly recommend their solo work: HAN’s “Alien”, "Hold My Hand" and “Close,” and Changbin’s “Streetlight”, "ULTRA" and “Because.”
