The Phantom of the Opera-'Think of Me' Celebrate and Compare Sarah Brightman & Sierra Boggess

That was fun! Give me more of these you'd like me to do if you liked that. I get into celebrating and comparing these two amazing singers as well as talk about what it's like performing on Broadway.

This was amazing! Thank you for the breakdown, I learned a lot. I would love to see your take on Emmy Rossum's performance from the movie. Also, have you ever reacted to/broken down anything from Rent? I think that one would be fun to explore

That was indeed fun. I enjoyed seeing you, Tim, really enjoy that reaction. I learned a lot, which is usually my prime focus. I learned something about myself, too. When I was in my classical listening phase, I listened to mostly orchestral music. I really couldn't get into classical/operatic music, especially female vocals. But, then I got into symphonic metal. Female singers with powerful, rich and trained voices. Not classical all the time, and certainly not operatic, but classically trained. Now, just beginning to dig into more classical/opera types of songs, I'm discovering that my ear seems to be much more accepting of those kinds of music. Growth? Familiarity? I don't know. I am just glad that I can appreciate different types of music more.

I once dated someone who LOVED Brightman, but I can't stand her. He never knew.

Also just for interest. Patrick Wilson, who played Raoul in the movie has also done a cover of Think of Me, which is a weird, almost country arrangement. He also sung an Elvis song in Conjuring 2

Would you also consider comparing Michael Crawford and Ramin Karimloo doing Music of the Night? Or do Michael and Sarah compared to Ramin and Sierra doing the title song?

Would be interesting to compare Emmy Rossum’s performance from the 2004 movie as well. A few things to keep in mind for her though is that she was only 16-17 when she did the movie. Also the lip sync in the movie is a bit out of sync between the visuals and the audio
