Blacksteel Vice

This one is very much a “made for myself” kind of set (づ ◕‿◕ )づ

I’ve wanted to make something like this for ages: all leather, no fabric panels, lots of straps and studs, high fingerless gloves, very tall boots, bare shoulders and, of course, a nice open neckline 😈

Basically, my personal idea of the perfect leather set for my OC. I actually tried putting together something along these lines from vanilla assets a long time ago, before I could make things from scratch, so it feels especially satisfying to finally make the version I had in my head properly. Demian is absolutely never taking this one off 😏

It also ended up being a nice little milestone for me technically. I’m still figuring out my preferred workflow, and this time I didn’t use any cloth simulation at all; every fold was sculpted by hand. I’m definitely still learning, but I’m starting to feel much more confident with them. I’ve also moved things like seams, compression and most of the smaller surface details into the sculpting stage, which means much less time wrestling with them in Substance and, to my eye, a more natural result overall.

Still plenty to learn, as always, but I’m very happy with where this one ended up ❤️
