Update 05/30 - Scriptwriting Troubles, and GW Copyright Strikes?

This is Alfabusa!
Long time since posted a post last.
But, Earndil is on vacation, so I again grab hold of this terrible power, to the tribulation of many.
Allow me to tell you of our daily horrors…
Hunter: The Parenting Script-Writing issues
Something I want to address first is our current, most significant bottleneck.
Up until the completion of Chapter 5, all hands were on deck in one way or another.
Most of our scriptwriters were either busy focusing on other tasks, or occupied with real-life struggles that prevented efficient creation of new scripts.
We did get some scripts out, as you can tell by the content released between Chapter 4 and 5.
But, we never managed to get ahead of the curve.
After Chapter 5’s release, it took far longer than we’re comfortable with actually getting the script for Chapter 6 fully prepared.
We’ve discussed this extensively and recognised what strings of intersecting issues that caused this cavalcade.
Now, we’re making strides toward solving it.
Currently, all our full-time scriptworkers (Speaker, Earndil, me) are focusing on preparing scripts, so we can sit cozily ahead of the curve going into the future.
This, unfortunately, does mean it’ll be a while longer before the release of the next Audiolog.
But, it's one worth waiting for, I think!
I’ll go into detail on just what these next projects will be…
HUNTER: THE PARENTING: CHAPTER 5.2 - Werewolf Lore: Kitten and Big-D’s Unveiling of the Garou
As our Hunters await the coming of the Coalition forces, they dig through the Arcanum’s halls to try and find anything that could help them find and rescue Marckus.
It will have our Hunters learn of the Wolves through a sequestered series of records from the 1920s, recorded by none other than Wernon Fatigue himself, revealing a scholarly expedition he was on researching Lycantrophy. But not everything is as it seems…
This Audiolog will be quite a long one, most similar to Chapter 3.7, the Ghoul Lore Audiolog, but with an adventure from a wholly different time and place explored between its bouts of raw lore-learning.
This script is ALMOST done, currently going through its second draft!
HUNTER: THE PARENTING: CHAPTER 5.3 - Door & Boy at O’Tolleys
As foretold, father and son go to the fast-food place for their meat burgers.
But, as you might expect, things don’t go exactly as planned…
This will naturally be a more character-focused little thing, exploring these two and their precious if somewhat strained relationship.
This script still needs work, with a first draft not entirely finished. It's currently going through renovation and some refocusing.
HUNTER: THE PARENTING: CHAPTER 5.4 - The Second Inquisition
Representatives of The Coalition arrive at the Arcanum Chapter House, heeding the call of its Chancellor.
But for as brutally simple that dealing with the Sabbat or even a Werewolf is…
Dealing with bureaucrats is a whole different ballgame, one our family is not equipped to handle.
A call for aid ends up a conflict in and of itself, as the rescue of Marckus is stalled by those with other motives for even coming.
This script’s skeleton draft has been constructed, but has not been fully reviewed yet by our team.
HUNTER: THE PARENTING: CHAPTER 5.5 - Kitten: The Grimaling
WIP title maybe?
But, this Chapter is a short little character exploration of Kitten and Grimal, their relationship with eachother, and with Marckus. Something to conclude their spat in the Chapter House, now very much informed by the nightmare situation they find themselves in.
This script is VERY close to finished, with a finished first draft, going through its second draft!
HUNTER: THE PARENTING: CHAPTER 6
Obviously, Chapter 6 is very much on our radar.
The script is finally finished, we have recorded a lot of it,storyboarding is currently ongoing, and earlier this week audio-editing begun.
I want to note that this Chapter will be nowhere near as long as Chapter 5, and that is entirely by design.
Think Chapter 3. Shorter, intenser, more dramatic, more action-packed.
Of note however, Chapter 6 will, no matter what, release after these last four previously mentioned Sub-Chapters, as they will inform a lot of the goings-on of Chapter 6.
HUNTER: THE PARENTING: CHAPTER 7
We do NOT want a repeat of what happened with Chapter 5 into Chapter 6.
And so, we have already started Chapter 7 and are intending to have the script wholly finished by the release of Chapter 6. Chapter 7 currently has its skeleton draft done, and now just needs to go into its first draft!
Of course, I can’t give many details on this one as you haven’t even seen Chapter 6 yet!
Of note is that we also intend on releasing a couple of Sub-Chapters between Chapter 6 and 7, but we have not yet fully decided on what story threads to pull at.
Likely revisiting Kevin and Guy, as well as some characters who ended up not being the focus of Chapter 6 and their involvement in this current conflict.
That is all on that front, however!
TERRIBLE excited to get our next thing going, it's been A LOT of fun to write…
NORFOLK WIZARD GAME
For Norfolk Wizard Game, Chapter 3 is currently still under way.
We’re at this time still doing visuals, but, with most of our staff’s focus currently on either scriptwork or Chapter 6, NWG is going slower than it otherwise would…
When we start feeling better on the script-front, NWG Chapter 3 will be finished in no time.
Gamers Workshop Fan Content Issue
Alright, so for something a bit less exciting!!!
Earlier this May, we received reports of a few videos being targeted with copyright strikes from GW, and among the videos targeted, there was also clear parody content.
Whether or not we will receive any form of copyright strike on OUR channel remains to be seen.
If even one video is struck, then we are likely going to have to remove all TTS content on the channel, because if we get three strikes, the ENTIRE CHANNEL is removed, including all our newer projects.
And even if this is a one-time thing and they do not do it again, we can never know that until it does happen again.
And, currently, I see no reason why it wouldn’t.
So, we are, without a shadow of a doubt, not touching GW IPs again until they make some kind of show of not wanting to engage in this behaviour continually.
If we are struck, or even if the channel is REMOVED…
That will be a massive blow against us.
But, it do not think it will be the end, as the viewerbase we have amassed as Ogre Poppenang has shown us.
Nevertheless, we will see how this progresses, and we’ll keep you all updated.

Considering how GW has a nasty habit of doubling down on even their most hairbrained decisions, unfortunately, I don't see them making any efforts to appease the fanbase regarding fan-created content. On the plus side, I'm pretty sure A LOT of people will now be diving into other franchises like the World of Darkness thanks to you guys.
Would it be time to create a second channel and double post all the none tts for when it happens?

Not surprised GW is being idiots again, it worked for them last time. Won't lie, I gave up on them back when they tried to copyright the word pauldrons. Never even looked at their stuff again and happier (and with so much more stuff) to show for it.
Well, we know that a O’Tolleys burned down based on the last audio-log and if you know the lore you might know what O’Tolleys does beside serve greasy af burgers, so I am looking forward to seeing what ensued to cause that place to burn down.

I wish Games Workshop would make up their mind of whether they're okay with fan-made content or not they really need to stop doing this back and forth shit. As for everything world of Darkness related it looks really good and I can't wait to see where you guys go and how you execute your vision!

Oh, I can’t wait for that. I’m assuming she’s a hunter as well but had philosophical differences with Door regarding the hunt, maybe she is even an Org Hunter instead of an independent hunter like the D family. Possibly a member of one of the religious orgs if Boy’s story is anything to go on.
It's a shame that GW makes it so hard to actually engage with their world, since you know, fanbase health is the lifeblood of an enduring franchise. Luckily enough, past me has already downloaded the entire catalogue 2 years ago, and I'm sure someone will take the time to reupload if it does get taken down. So I do agree that, for the sake of the main channel, the catalogue has to go (if it does gets threatened by GW). May the memes and dreams we made along the way warm our hearts ever more into the future. [Asmodai screams BOOK in the background]

Totally cool with shorter more intense and more frequent content. Love the longer stuff to death but it isn’t a necessity. Cant wait to see what shenanigans Markus and Matilda get up to in the umbra.
Guess I better rewatch TTS while I can. It pisses me off that GW does this, considering that literally everything they now strike people on is rooted in parody. Oh well, their loss is WoD's gain huh? I adore these updates and they are the main reason I joined the patreon. Ht:P content is so densely packed I need to set aside dedicated time to watch and enjoy each episode, so it's nice to know when one is coming.
The success of HtP and GW's continued, awful behavior towards fan creators should vindicate your decision to move on from that IP. You all put much love and care into all that you do, you dont deserve to see that threatened. Stoked for the new audiologs/subchapters, they will arrive when they are most needed!
I've made my peace with the loss of TTS. It was a magical project, it got me into Warhammer [and its cancellation got me out of it], but more importantly, it introduced me to Ogre Poppenang. Your content is always pure bliss on my weary, despair-infused eyeballs and eardrums. GW can take away TTS, but I don't need it; I've got something far better. Thank you for the roadmap, guys. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the coming subchapters, and when they get here, I will devour them with a most voracious appetite. Do what you need to do, and take what time you need to, to make the art you love. Our support will remain with you c:

Sad to hear GW is screwing around. Elated to hear about the multi-log and chapter news, though! Almost can't wait for it. Don't burn out, though! I wouldn't want this to be at the detriment of anyone's work-life balance.
Taking down your videos is exactly what GW WANTS. If they strike you, it's because your content makes them look bad and they want it gone. The best thing you can do is move the videos to a different channel you can afford to lose. If they try to kill that channel, make another. This is how AMVs survived the copywrite-genocide of the 2010's. FIGHT THE POWER!

I'm not saying that YouTube downloaders exist and the finished videos aren't particularly big, so they should all fit on a modern SD card. But I'm not NOT saying that. The only reason I haven't done it is because my backup drives for such things are on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean at the moment, and I won't get access to them again for some years
