Creators turn passions into newsletters

There’s a newsletter for every kind of passion and point of view on Patreon, and starting one has never been simpler. More than a creative outlet, newsletters are a powerful way to grow your audience and membership by cutting through the noise and landing right in fans’ inboxes. It’s your space to share the stories, process, and personality behind your work.

We’re highlighting some of our favorite newsletters and the creators behind them. Some treat it like a journal, others like a community dispatch or workshop, but all use it to stay connected, spark engagement, and invite more people into what they’re creating.

Whether you share through words, videos, podcasts, songs, sketches, walks, HEX codes … (you get the point), your next audience touchpoint might just start with a letter.

The make-somethingletters

SketchLetter with Ali Spagnola is the rebirth of Ali’s Free Paintings Project, a weekly experiment in art, chaos, and generosity. Each letter, Ali chooses one idea from her audience to paint, mails the artwork to its muse, and shares the story (and painting) with everyone else.

SongLetter with Andrew Huang is a behind-the-scenes diary that shows every part of a song — except the song itself. Expect guitar tabs, lyric scraps, mix notes, DAW screenshots, and the beautiful mess behind how music comes to life.

InkLetter with Benji Nate is a weekly accumulation of cartoonist Benji Nate’s work, with new exclusive content from her acclaimed comic Girl Juice and a peek behind the curtain on the creative process.

NonsenseLetter with Tiny Nonsense is a newsletter for curious knitters eager to learn new techniques. Each issue highlights a fun or lesser-known skill with clear, approachable guidance and inspiration to keep your craft growing.

ClayLetter with Kara Leigh Ford Ceramics Making money from mud is tricky. ClayLetter shares life as a full-time potter, with each letter starting from a failure and lesson learned. Kara also shares inspiration from nature, art, books, podcasts, and her own work in progress.

LettersLetter with Shoutbam Creative Studio is a playful newsletter that breaks lettering rules on purpose. Each issue tackles a design “no-no,” such as flipped strokes or unusual textures and turns it into a fun, interactive experiment. It also shares unique lettering finds from graffiti to creative signage.

HuesLetter with Lizard Leigh The newsletter celebrates the thrill of ideation and finding inspiration in unexpected places. Each issue of The HuesLetter begins with a random HEX color and grows into a mix of playful, crafty ideas.

The curiositiesletters

CultureLetter with Anne Helen Petersen is a newsletter and podcast where Anne explores how culture shapes our lives and how we shape culture. Drawing on her experience as a scholar and culture writer, she breaks down trends in politics, fashion, celebrity, and more, with curious guests digging into today’s biggest questions.

FatLetter with Virginia Sole-Smith is a fat-positive, anti-diet community focused on body liberation. Each issue features deep dives and personal essays on topics like co-parenting in diet culture and family meal planning. The Burnt Toast podcast continues the conversation, exploring anti-fat bias in parenting, health, and fashion.

WonderLetter with Socratica is a monthly newsletter celebrating curiosity with surprising STEAM topics, from bubble physics to tree communication, plus playful activities and quizzes that spark wonder. It’s a fun care package for your curious mind.

FossilLetter with I Know Dino features a photo of a dinosaur fossil or skeleton and challenges you to name the dinosaur. Bonus points if you can spot the museum. Test your knowledge, learn the fossil’s story, and discover where to see it in real life.

The simple-lifeletters

PeasantLetter with the Greedy Peasant is a guide for modern peasants seeking new reasons to celebrate. Each issue revives forgotten feast days and whimsical holidays, featuring additions such as medieval-inspired art, simple crafts, recipes, and rituals for everyday revelry.

WalkLetter with Jonathon Stalls shares stories, practices, photos, videos, and pen art that invite creative movement, walking for mental health, slowing down with trees, and welcoming spontaneous encounters. Issues will include tips for making communities safer and more accessible for walkers, wheelchair users, cyclists, and transit riders.

The storytellersletters

DeadLetter with The Balesky Experience is a place where the veil between worlds lifts. Each month, you’ll witness real spirit connections, lost souls, forgotten stories, and messages from beyond, brought to life before your eyes.

QuestLetter with Angela Maps is a serialized 5e campaign featuring battle maps from Angela’s Patreon. New content every other week.
