Chris Klemens’ secret to turning Spotify listeners into paid members

When comedian Chris Klemens started his Chris vs. The People podcast, he also launched an exclusive After Show to accompany each episode, only available on Patreon. Looking for ways to make sure his fans knew about the After Show, Chris turned on Spotify Synced Feeds, so fans could access his free and paid shows in one single feed.

“I love the way [Synced Feeds] show bonus content in Spotify side by side with the main show and basically provide free, simple promotion for the After Show."

The result?

In the first three months after setting up Synced Feeds, 24% of listeners who visited Chris’ Patreon via the Spotify integration converted to paid membership. And his tier that includes these bonus episodes has more than doubled the number of members.

“It’s very motivating to create the After Show knowing so many people are now watching/seeing it. [This] has absolutely helped convert fans into paying members. It was the easiest way to earn money and build a stronger community with really such a low lift. Honestly, it's a no brainer.”

Your next fan is already on Spotify. Make it effortless for them to join.

Man! Some sites like Exploring with Fighters are too expensive to join on Patreon for retirees who love to watch them! Doggonit! Why so high priced??

Unfortunately this does not work if your free podcast is hosted by Spotify. I do video podcasts so can't host with a 3rd party. Spotify told me synced feeds only work if BOTH feeds are hosted outside of Spotify. Which is unfortunate because I wanted to use this method.
