Weekly Progress Update
Work on Episode 2 has moved forward nicely this week.
The episode is now roughly 60–65% complete overall.
Current progress:
Writing / structure: around 75% complete
The main episode structure is now in place, with the key scenes planned and the tone feeling much closer to what I wanted.
Renders: around 55–60% complete
This week I finished the renders for an important Michaela warning section. This was a render-heavy part of the episode, with a lot of close-ups, reaction shots and tense character moments, so getting it done feels like a big step.
Implementation in Ren’Py: around 45–50% complete
The episode is playable in parts, but there is still work to do connecting everything smoothly, adding the remaining branches, and tightening the scene flow.
Audio / atmosphere: around 10–15% complete
I’ve started looking at music and sound effects now. The plan is to add subtle ship ambience, UI sounds, hatch sounds, warning tones and some darker tension music to give the episode more atmosphere.
This week’s main achievement was completing the Michaela warning section renders. It is one of those scenes where the atmosphere really matters, so I’ve been focusing on making the characters feel alive through expressions, body language and framing rather than relying only on dialogue.
Still plenty to do, but Episode 2 is now starting to feel like a proper follow-up rather than just a set of planned scenes.
