Weekly project management report

Hey guys!  This week our illustrator lovely Victoria created tons of new artwork for the episode!  It’s all looking really great, as always.

One of the things she finished were updates to the avatar hair and body, so this week I went to work coding the new hairstyles into the game.  There are now currently four natural colours available in the character creator:

She automatically ties her hair up at work:

And lets it down when appropriate:

In testing: it is surprisingly delightful seeing her hair change in different scenes; it makes a really big difference to her look.

Her hair can also get wet and mussed up (for morning after/walk of shame/just-been-fucked scenes), and you can manually switch between the different styles in certain places (e.g. you can make her curl or straighten her hair before a date, if you want).

As part of the mission prep at Faslane, the heroine can now dye her hair to alter her appearance and support her cover:

Check out the roots!  😮  Her natural hair colour automatically peeps through if she dyes it.

Actually putting it into the game was really boring and time consuming
I had to process, upload and test 168 separate graphic assets; create new UI code in the character creation menus; create new internal code to actually display the correct assets at the correct times; create new layering code to display all the hairs correctly, front and back; and fix lots of annoying bugs and visual glitches.

This took a few days, and was boring as fuck, but I did it anyway because I love you.  Tomorrow I’m going to get to work implementing the other half of this avatar upgrade: new skin tones.  The whole point is to make your heroine in the next episode and going forward much more personalised and yours.  🦀❤️‍🔥

But didn't the old versions have between 6 and 8 hair colors? Or were they all dyed colors, and are there now only four natural colors? Some of Victoria's drawings of the "heroine" wearing sunglasses always make me smile 😁.

I hate to say this, because I DO NOT want you to use LLMs for any of the writing, but this is the shit that Claude Code is built for. It does tedious coding stuff like this in 30 mins.

That's a ton of hard work! Thankyou and hopefully we get to test run it too soonish.

I don't want be naggy but do you have an estimate on how far away the next release might be?

I'll tell you the answer crush would give: It'll be released when it is ready. And we all know what "ready" means in crush's context.
